Comment:

His general microbiology class is one of the easiest college classes I've ever taken. His tests come straight off the PowerPoints which he has on blackboard. He's also a nice guy and obviously likes to see his students succeed. I also have him for lab and he's also great to have in a lab setting as well. If you want an easy A TAKE HIS CLASS!

I had Lightner for General Microbiology lecture and lab. Both classes are an easy A! There are quizzes over each chapter but all quizzes and tests are fully online. Don't buy the textbook, you won't need it.

Comment:

Roger Lightner is the best. All test/assignments are online, including final. He has quizzes at least once a week, he tells you when. There is one paper assignment due at the end of the semester. Basically if you study the quizzes and do the homework, you will for sure pass. (More than likely get an A)

His lectures are really interesting. He gives a study guide for ever unit. Study the study guide and you'll pass every test. He always took the time to answer questions even when we were running out time in lecture. He's a really nice guy who clearly loves what he's teaching. I strongly recommend him.

Mr. Lightener is THE best professor I've ever had. He takes difficult material and makes it easy to understand. He doesn't rush and has a good answer for every question posed to him (no "blow-off" answers). Also, he is very clear on his expectations and treats his students fairly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lightner can be a little boring in lecture sometimes, but he cares so much for his students and it shows. His class is very interesting and he himself is a really cool guy. Just do the unit quizzes and know the study guides and youll make an A. I have really enjoyed his class this semester and highly recommend him.

So nice and very, very caring. He will make time for you if you ever need anything. He responds to emails quickly and he gives you study guides. His exams are easy. He knows that not everyone is a biology major, so he makes it a bit easier for us. You will definitely learn from him! Easy going guy. Take him if you can!

I loved this class. Dr. Lightener is an awesome teacher. He really cares about his students and what he is teaching. He is always prepared for class & gives feedback really fast. Test grades are usually put in BlackBoard within the same day. My grade was a 78%. I asked for a bonus points. He changed my grade to a B & I didn't have to do extra work.

Lightner is an amazing teacher! He teaches this class to where anybody could understand the content. He cares about the subject and his students. He gives you the power points and study guides. There's a homework assignment for each test, but they're easy! Definitely take him, you won't regret it! I enjoyed this class a lot!

Really great lectures, gives you a copy of the powerpoint lecture online so you can study outside his class. His tests are tough but fair and he gives you plenty of information to teach. It's a big class with lots of people but he's more than willing to pause and answer questions.

I took him for my Biology lab. I really enjoyed this class. All the labs were applied to real life situations that someone might actually find useful. The labs only lasted about an hour long. Very minimal homework or stress. I really enjoyed this class.

I could not recommend this man highly enough. Pretty easy, and you still learn a lot without a ton of stress attached. Makes the labs fun, and it is obvious that he wants all of his students to do well. Definitely the best professor I have had. I wish I could have taken him for lecture also!
