I didn't take pre-calc in high school so I was a little nervous about going into calc, but its doable. He is a very fair grader and gives a lot of partial credit on his exams. His class is basically 2 midterms, 1 final (replaces your lowest midterm), and homework. He assigns 40 or so hw problems and only grades 4 w/o telling you which ones.

Before I started taking Calculus I was told my multiple peers that it would be an incredibly difficult topic and as a result, expected the worst. Sam Brannen shattered those expectations by teaching the information in bits that are easy to digest and inspiring a positive presence in class. He is always prepared and is more than happy to teach math.

I took Dr. Brannen for winter intersession and he was a great instructor! He's very clear and direct with the information you need to learn. I enjoyed his class and performed well. Just take good notes, do the homework, and do practice problems for the study guide in order to pass. I highly recommend winter intersession math classes!

Sam is a great professor. He has a rather informal style which a minority of students dislike. I thought has style was fun, it was like having a conversation about math. Apparently some people can't listen to a conversation and need a professor who is just spouting formulas and dryly telling you just what you need for the test. Sam is not that kind

Calculus was a tough subject, but Dr Brannen made it so much easier. He's good at explaining things and his midterms are BASED on the homework so make sure you do the assigned problems. I would highly recommend him.

Real II is a really tough subject, but Dr. Brannen made things very clear when he lectured. The class is graded mostly on class presentations. The midterm was a take home and he told us what would be on the final essentially. He designed this class so that if you show up, participate, and turn in your work, you will get a good grade.

Calc4 was pretty difficult, but I really enjoyed having it with Dr. Brannen. He is so good at explaining things and was always available for help in his office hours. Also, he shows you how to use formulas, but he also derives them. He is also really quirky and that made class fun. I recommend him for any math course.

he's a little quirky. though the homework is really difficult sometimes, DO IT, because his tests are based off of it, which makes the tests easier. i had a lot of fun in this class, and if i needed another math i would totally take it with him

Got a B in the class. Coulda got an A. Not all that great at explaining things. He Had students explain things a lot of the times. Tests were easy because they were questions that came straight off the HW. HW was very hard though. He was also a very picky grader. I always thought I did a great job on HW and would end up with red marks all over it.

Sam is a GREAT teacher! i really enjoyed his class. quizes are easy and long as you do your homework or have a friend in the class before you! i liked this class and you get to go to the computer lab which is easy and fun!
