He's not a bad person, but goes out of his way to make sure you know how to do something. He does this by making problems abnormally hard (some of which he has trouble solving, and even at times having to go back and re-grade exams). I won't argue that if you take him and study a lot you will learn, but take my advice and just take a dif. prof.

Sadly he is one of the only Calc III professors at UWG. I took him one semester and did terrible on the first 2 tests (as a majority of the class did). No curves on the test. I ended up dropping this course and taking it again with another professor at a different University. Literally 3x easier. No exaggeration. I got an A with a different prof

NO! He literally said to our class "I am going to try and make you fail" in hopes of making us work even harder, but he just made us fail. He would do an "example problem on the board for 20 minutes, and then realize he messed up. HE can't even complete his problems. I believe our class started with roughly 30 people, and maybe 7 of them passed.

Could not follow this prof at all. I've never had a problem with understanding math concepts until I took Calc 1 with him. His teaching is very confusing and ADD, making his lectures impossible follow. It seemed to me that I would have had to have had a decent understanding of Calc 1 beforehand to get a semi-decent grade in the class. DO NOT TAKE.

You need a strong math background and lots of study time if you even want to try to succeed in this class, since it's hard. Turn-ins are harder than tests. On the other hand, hes a nice person in general, and is usually helpful if youre stuck. I would recommend taking another math if you can help it - despite all my efforts, I only got a B.

Lol do not take this man. Pulled out a B studying just about every night. Too hard in comparison to other professors and that is simply not right.

Hardest professor I've ever taken in my life, BUT I've never had a stronger understanding of calculus. Not uncommon to live in his office, his homework problems take hours, and his tests are extremely long and hard. His final was difficult but I was so proud to have actually learned and remembered everything from the beginning of the semester.

He is a challenging professor. Know going in that you will have to know the material conceptually if you want to do well. I did not like his teaching style, however he does say he will be available for office hours if anyone needs that (which he is required to do..) To be quite honest I ended up teaching myself the material. Like-able person.

Having taken AP Stat in high school I figured this would be an easy A, however, this professor did not know what he was doing. He only taught statistics once before for a summer class and it showed. He's a nice guy who makes himself available for office hours but I wouldn't recommend taking him for statistics. He does not know the material at all.

First time he taught this class.Had one paper (70%) and hw assignments (30%).Hw assignments were random topics he'd teach, sometimes too much over people's head (some calc 1 students were in there). Demanding on the paper, but if you went to him and got help several times, it was all good. He'll work you towards the A. Very nice and interesting man.

If you take his class, be prepared to do your homework every single night if you want a decent grade in his class. Go see him during his office hours and go to tutoring center. He is a hard professor, but he's also witty and pleasant to talk to.

I love math, but it wasn't until I took this class did I feel confused. You really have to learn to filter out his nonsense when he starts to think out loud. His test are extremely hard. He is very frustrating, but he is willing to help. He is very smart and forgets that the student does not know what he knows. If you take him, be prepared.

Very demanding teacher, but by far one of the best in the entire math department. He is extremely accessible to his students and will explain as many times as it takes...as long as you have done your part to understand. If you are willing to do the work, take him and you will come out with superb knowledge of the material.

Good instructor - will explain content until you grasp the material or until he is blue in the face. Tests usually consist of 1 - 2 problems of every problem type given during homework. He grades strictly, since he makes himself available to students. No curves.

Fresh out of grad school and during classes he mainly impresses himself.I think I should remark that when there was a death in my family he would not let me make up a quiz which dropped my average 20 points. I am a straight A science major. I had an A in calculus I. All of his tests are tricks. Avoid Gordon at all costs. Hope this helps!

Definitely would not recommend this professor to anyone. His Final was outrageous. I think it dropped my average 15 points, and I was close to an A. The final was nothing like the practice final. He is extremely hard and has the ego to go with his education. AVOID HIM!

There's no denying that the man knows math and really enjoys it. However, I really struggled learning the material because he was unable to explain the process. There is too much left unsaid, allowing for confusion to defeat you. There were several entire lectures wasted on irrelevant material and he is often slow to begin lecture. Switched majors.

Dr. Gordon was AWESOME! Yea, he is the hardest professor I have ever taken... But I have really taken in the material. If you want an easy grade, DONT TAKE HIM... But, If you would like to learn and EARN YOUR A, You can definately do that in his class. I made a B, but an A is achievable I think.
