I absolutely LOVED having Duncan. I had her for a UC class and even as a senior I still remember her as a professor. Very personable and a great professor to get in touch with if you're a freshman, she's lots of help!

Comment:

Her class was tons of work but I can say it was all worth it. I left that class feeling like I had learned more than most of my other classes and this is without much prior interest in the class. I would recommend the class if you have time for the work. She is an amazing women who I still talk to frequently.

Comment:

Can't stand her class. She's so scatter brained and "acts" like she's such a hard teacher. She'll change the syllabus around last second and no one in the class really understands what the homework is. She'll call people out just to embarrass them. I can't stand her or the class. One of the most pointless classes. Oh, go to class or you'll fail.

Comment:

Shes definitely hardcore, and a great teacher. However, sometimes she overdoes the difficulty of the class. A University Core class or a "100-level" course should not have a student sweating and staying up late, nervous and new to college. Shes as smart as a whip, but dont underestimate the amount of work shell give you (or the difficulty of it).

One of my favorite teachers. Extremely challenging class if your used to being able to BS. Didn't do that great in either of her classes: around B-, C+. The way she teaches is extremely unique in that she really forces you to express your opinions on matters. Overall: phenomenal teacher, difficulty can be surprising, reading is a must, challenging.

Looking forward to more classes with her, as she is extremely interested in her career and helping students obtain their life goals. Books are required for this course, and you must keep up with the syllabus or you will find yourself extremely confused and missing assignments. Proffessor Duncan is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She has made this class extremely enjoyable for me. Go meet her in her office, no really go, read your assignments and do well on the NYT quizzes and you'll be fine.

She is nice. But if you dont talk dont take her. If you dont like to read-7 books. 2 papers... and a big project that she gives little time to do. Final and midterm is not real easy but class is insightful.

I disagree that the material was explained well. It was hard to follow if you hadn't read the homework assignment but she teaches that way on purpose. I think that she's really funny and she tried to keep the projects interesting.

Dr. Duncan has a very different style then most profs. She may come off as having an attitude but it is only her passion for the subject. Once you get to know her she is really nice and helpful.

She was very knowledgable about her subject, but did not do well conveying it to her students. She teaches with some bias, but allows students to have their own opinions and speak their minds. Assignments were unclear and unorganized. She did not stick to her original outline at all and at times contradicted what she had said earlier.
