I do not recommend anyone to take his class. He sits through the entire class period and reads the chapters. He expects you to just write down things without knowing whats on the test or what to study for. He is very slow and has no type of plan.

Comment:

I took Mr.Skidgel for cultural geography and enjoyed the class. He is really educated and knowlegable about the subject. He offers bonus points. Whatever he writes on the board is important to learn and he basically tells you what is on each test. But you still have to study! He makes you earn your grade. He isnt mean just hates repeating himself.

He is easy as long as you go to class and open your book. He takes the test right out of the book. The only reason one would do bad on a test is if you dont go to class, or you do not have a book. He goes over the test.

I love Mr. Skidgel. You grow to love him. If you come to class ON TIME and participate, and at least open your book you will pass. I know because i failed the first go around. His tests come straight from the book/ lecture. Physical Geograpy wasnt a subject that was just amazingly intriguing, but Mr. Skidgel done a good job given the material.

I can see how some of the more fresh-faced students could find him a bit scary, but they need to grow up some time, and encountering people like Ron Skidgel is part of the process.

He is awful as an instructor...He reads the whole chapter to you after he tells you to go home and read it! He is easy but he is boring. You test after every two chapters. He has a temper and if you ask someone next to you a question he goes off and says you need to listen. We only got to chapter six and that was our final...its riduculous!

Poor teacher. Read the book to us. Could not answer questions definitavely. It is easy to get an A but the class is extremely boring. I didn't learn anything. If you need an easy A and this is a pre-requisite then take the class with Skidgel. If you want to learn and be entertained stay away!

Nice teacher. Easy discussion questions (straight from book). Doesn't require a ton of homework (or any for that matter). Glad I took this class. I learned and it wasn't terribly hard.

Mr. Skidgel is a good instructor. Even though we answered most of the discussion questions at the end of each chapter, these questions were not always the ones selected for the test. Which simply means that you must study the entire chapter and review the textbooks website and CD. Test were always over two chapters at a time. Good Luck to everyone!

He is obviously bitter about life and it is not a rare occurrence for him to have a fit in class. But, his is class is super easy. Just memorize the vocabulary and be sure to pay attention to the review. The questions he ask come directly from the test.

You people must be crazy. Skidgel is the EASIEST teacher that I have had at this school. His tests are DIRECTLY from the CHAPTER TEXT. Do yourselves a favor and grab a highlighter and just follow along. DId not take notes once and scored an A. Forget about the glossary and use the TEXT!

Oh my LORD--Do not take this guy. The FIRST DAY of class he lectured 10 mins over class time & the prof who needed the room next had to come in and cut him off, freeing us! He is nasty & has some sort of breathing problem, breathes very loudly.

I did ok in his class, but most didn't. The man has a great deal of knowledge about hist. His problem is in his delivery.I think older students tend to do much better in his class (more disciplined.) Just be prepared to study and good luck.
