Be prepared for lots of homework. He doesn't think it's a lot so over the weekend he makes you do a 7 hour minimum project. I did learn a lot, but his methods are a little unconventional. He is a big fan of inventing new principles to add into the textbook that you're gonna be making from scratch. Definitely not the easiest class.

Probably the best professor for color theory- he teaches graduate painting classes, so he is extremely knowledgeable. I loved how his class was structured and how we basically wrote our own textbook. He didn't make the class unnecessarily hard or give difficult projects and his expectations were very clear. His lectures were engaging.

Learned a lot, but he's kind of scatterbrained and likes to make up his own terminology. Easy A, but if you pay attention and do your work you'll learn a lot.

Interesting class to say the least. You actually write your own textbook, where you put all your notes and projects in. There's a lot of work involved (we had to write how long it took to do our projects and he expected a minimum of 7 hours for most projects). Nonetheless, he is open minded to how projects turn out and you learn a lot in the class.

Makes you create your own textbook throughout the course. You are graded on every page you make, so be sure you are taking notes and keeping up with the assigned pages so you don't fall behind.

You make your own textbook, 165+ pages worth. It is the most work I've ever had to do in a class. I'd spent 11-17 hours on this book in 2 days. The book is extremely tedious and VERY time consuming. He gets very deep into his lectures, you do learn some good things in his class though. He also thinks the amount of work he gives you is not a lot.

Prof. Knudsen Has been the most inspiring professor I have ever met. Youll learn EVERYTHING! related with color. You will have to create a book out of a sketchbook, includig the cover of it. Youll have to work hard during the whole quarter. you will have a 7 hour project every weekend in addition to the information you need to add to your book

The class I took with Professor Knudson was interesting, challenging, and a favorite of mine throughout my coursework so far. He gave guidance when appropriate and encouraged us to trust ourselves in our work too. Also provided a plethora of interesting lecture, video, reading, and resources that proved enriching and enjoyable.

Class contained material I found not only fascinating, but relevant to my work even to this day. The lessons presented were in keeping with the syllabus, and the process of creating our own textbook made the concepts stick. Always helpful to explain. Broad material covered, steady pace. The tone set aided in learning from peers in discussions.

The student made textbook in color theory was really helpful in learning the material in your own way and style. Although it might seem like a lot of work if you stay on top of the homework and do all the readings it's fun class. He really cares, and is always there for help or questions.

He is by far my least favorite teacher. His class seems to go on and on with no interest or importance. And I don't know who put the hotness stuff on their review but he has worn the exact same shirt to our class every single day, what is hot about that?

His oil based media class was fun and straight-forward. He is a wonderful, passionate, friendly, and non-cynical teacher. He knows so much more than us but he never makes you feel bad- he just encourages. It is quite a bit of work outside of class, but you have a LOT of control over your projects. I think he's cute too :)
