i was going to solidify my foundation and major in dance but since she didn't ACTUALLY TEACH i dropped every class i had with her and switched majors. she doesn't teach, she's consistently late or absent. she doesn't observe either which is a safety issue. she should've retired years ago. disappointing and unsafe for new students. waste of time

Comment:

Shes a wonderful lady, but at teaching Sunny is alright. Shes late a lot and cancels class sometimes, she has health problems so I understand. Not very organized, and TA helper heavy. I took her for 4 semesters, and her beginning class has so much more structure than her advanced classes. I would take a lecture class from her but not a dance lab.

Sunny is really a great lady. She's very passionate and knowledgeable about dance and can teach you great things. She is a little gabby, but she's a very passionate and open person, and I'm glad she shares her wonderful stories and experience with us. I'd definitely recommend her!

Honestly, you will either love Sunny or hate her. She rambles on in her lectures and will cut in on almost every class's dancing time. Also, when she's not lecturing she probably isn't even in the room. Bright side: she REALLY knows dance and can teach you incredible things if you know how to ask and the company performs every semester.

If you're a dancer, this is the class for you. She has dancers of all levels of skill work together in this class. It's really student-driven, though. She won't give much feedback if you don't ask, and her instructions tend to ramble off into long-winded stories. But the class itself was very fun, as we're the other 2 I took with her this semester.

Sunny Smith is an interesting dancerteacher. It's obvious she loves dance and it's history, but sometimes she's lost in her own world and when lectures are given, be prepared for a shorter class time for actual dancing. She's a nice person overall, but seems a little unorganized. Thankfully she has TA's. I enjoyed Ballet and would take again.

Sunny is a sweetheart. You won't meet a more tenderhearted teacher on campus. She will go out of her way to help you, even outside of class. Her love of dance itself and telling stories about it often intrudes on class time, so that about half of each class is actually spent dancing. Modern was more self-directed than expected, but excellent.

She seems to maintain a minimal level of interest in every single one of her classes.SHe's a lazy teacher.I have taken her ballet, jazz & company classes multiple times.She doesnt teach much. Hardest things we ever did: ballet=tour jete, jazz=double pirouettes.Bummer if you really like to dance; not much gets done.UPSIDEyou get to perform @ the end

I have worked with my choreographers in my time and Sunny by far is the worst due to her lack of respect of her dancers. Its just the caviler disregard that she demands respect when she gives absolutely none. Her attendance is worse than a stoned student at school, She expects professionalism from her students yet she can't keep time. Disapointing

I took her Beg. ballet class and I liked it. Sunny is a very kind, and caring person who is really passionate about dance. She will help you when you need it. Sunny showed up to class late most of the time and left the room often. Good class. Wish I could take her class again but can't because she's unable to help me due my special needs.

Sunny's AMAZING. She is so inspirational and has so many stories and experiences to share. She has the same kind of effect that Mia Michaels has on her dancers. She just inspires people to become better dancers and performers. She can be a bit nitpicky but that just makes you better. One thing I dislike was how she always started class 30 min late

I dropped this class right after the first day. If you have training in Ballet, you won't like this class. She has no structure. She is easily flustered. She plays favorites. If you are new to dance, make sure you sign up for Beginning. She totally freaked out when there was beginners in her intermediate class. She made them feel bad for enrolling.

Sunny is a TERRIBLE choreographer. She makes boring dances (both to dance and watch), and often just doesn't do her work. I asked a question about my counts and she yelled at me if I listened to her I wouldn't have questions. Never figured it out. She's grumpy, mean and lazy. I never want to work with her again.

Both jazz and company are ridiculously dumb. If you like to dance then it is a waste of your life. Anyone with prior experience will be better than these classes. Sunny is a super nice person but she should not be teaching a college level dance class or be running company!

Sunny is amazing, she not only feeds my passion for dance but helps me and aids me in pursuing what I want to do with my life. She has amazing/fun c****ography and knows everything to do with dance. She has experienced so much in her life. She danced till she was in her 30s you will learn alot from her! You'll love her but shes a little silly :)
