I love Haigler! I had her for my Comm 100 class, and now I'm taking the intercultural comm and I have had positive experiences in both. I failed one of the quizzes and she let me re-take it because she knew I could do better. She is understanding, helpful, and an amazing teacher. Both classes I have taken online.

Dr. Haigler is an excellent instructor. Very responsive. Yes, the community service requirement isn't the best, but again, this is a college-level course. Don't see a need to trash a professor's rating over it. Class well worth taking and actually learning something from. Your effort will definitely reflect your earned grade. Highly recommend.

You will fail the class if you don't do at least 10 hours of community service even if you do all the homework and reading! Don't waste your time nor money on this class. Its not worth it!

Dr. Haigler does a fantastic job, she is hard though. You have to read a very dense book (literally the whole book). The quizzes are super hard, but if you read it and keep up and think about it, you will have no trouble. She does not give a final, which is nice because (did I mention) the quizzes are hard and the essays you have to write are long

Way too much reading involved per week and expectations for required volunteer project is way too many hours for any student who attends college and works. From the expectations and workload you'd think its an upper level course. Not worth the time or money.

Susan was very involved with this online class & we had to be as well. She responded with thought to each one of our posts. I loved that. Service project required and I'm glad I took this class for cultural literacy requirement because I learned a lot from my F2F service & classmates. Recommend if you're interested in other cultures & participate.

The course material was somewhat ingagin because what we were learning was on par with my humanities class. Her communication was TERRIBLE she takes at least 2-3 days to respond. "Face 2 Face" community service interactions are mandatory and if not completed you FAIL the entire class regardless if you get 100% on every other assignment. Pretty dumb

Very nice and knowledgeable professor. She went out of her way to give positive feedback and shared personal stories from her own life that were funny and relatable to the material.

I love this woman. She really cares about what she teaches and it made me care. This was my first online class, so I thought it was hard to figure out at first, but I gained a lot from it. I highly suggest that EVERYONE take this course. Learn something that's going to make you a better person. Tests were kind of hard and there was a lot of work.

Susan was VERY interactive with the class and she would rapidly respond to any questions about anything. Tests centered around book and lectures and grades on papers seemed based on effort and content. You DEFINITELY have to show effort BUT, it was super fun and I absolutely loved having her as a teacher! Great class with very passionate teacher!

(online course) Susan is fun, outgoing, and very chatty. It's great to have a communicative instructor online. The activities were fun, but the quizzes were little related to the textbook. The questions seemed debatable, and not simple multiple choice questions. Great class otherwise, I recommend it to anyone!

This was the best taught course I have taken at PCC yet! Susan was extremely organized, and managed the course professionally, but also meet individual students needs, and was extremely attentive. This course should be required in every field of study.

From the look of previous posts, the class hasn't changed much in the last 3 or 4 years. Susan was not terrible, not great. The text is one of the worst books I've ever had. Full of stereotypes and so dry and boring for a lower division class.

Very little communication for this kind of class. Tests are from a question bank and cover every single detail of a contradictory text filled with stereotypes. No direction given for the online papers, other than a grade and what she didn't like about the submission. Very demanding volunteer/"service learning" requirement. IMO, Find another class!

Took class online. Amazing class. I learned a lot and it was very apparent that Susan was knowledgable in Intercultural Communications. She responded quickly to any questions and gave fair grades. Heavy use of textbook, but helpful.

Class was poorly organized and I strongly disliked the textbook. Most frustrating was the "communication" from the instructor. For a communications class, I don't expect pink font, smiley faces/winks after EVERY response, or words like "bozo" to be used. I hate to see instructor's setting such poor examples for proper written communication.

It would be nice if we ever heard from the teacher. She rarely would post anything online except for your grades when she finally got to it. In my my experience with online classes the teachers have always been involved. A very boring class.

Has a very poor layout compared to the many online courses I have taken. Doesn't give in depth instruction on what she wants yet expects us to know and do it. Test questions are so random you really do have to remember the text word for word.Pen pal assignment is pointless. Lots of room for improvement.

Has no idea how to teach an online class. Rarely posted or commented on our posted assignments; sometimes took weeks or months to respond to email; some emails she just never responded to. This was an intro course yet she refused to give any guidelines as to the scope so we had to learn EVERYTHING - every sentence in the book & articles. Maddening!
