Susan wasnt a bad professor but she wasnt my favorite. You definitely need to show up to every class if you dont want to miss an entire category of signs that will be used on the tests. On tests she signs very quickly, so make sure youre paying attention!

Dr. Susan is my most favorite professor that I have had at CMU so far! She's so fun and is completely passionate about what she does. She expects a lot but it is definitely easy to get an A in the class as long as you go to every class, PARTICIPATE, and do the homework. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS she is very sweet and will talk to you about anything!

the class is very easy as long as you go to all of them. I missed one and still ended up with an A. There are two rxn papers on movies and two exams plus a final dialogue with a partner. Susan is nice and makes it easy to understand even though there's no voice. She likes to do a couple of sharade type activities though which can be awkward

her exams are impossible and she expects way too much from students. papers are graded easy, but overall class is difficult and it is hard to pay attention due to lack of voice.

I loved this class....until after the first exam. Her exams are impossible and she signs things we never learned in class and goes way to fast for a beginners. Expects way too much for a 101 class. She grades you as if this were a 300+ level class. I studied the book, but she teaches completely different than the book. There is NO talking AT ALL.

Dr. Susan is AMAZING! She is so passionate about her job, and about deaf culture. Thanks to her, i am OBSESSED with ASL! The class is very fun and she is very friendly. However, attendance is mandatory (she doesnt take attendance BUT you will be lost if you don't attend!). I LOVE YOU DR. SUSAN!

She's very friendly and interested in her students doing well. There is no talking in class but it makes it that much more fun trying to communicate. She makes the class interesting by her facial expression and genuinly cares for her students. Tests CAN be tricky but she sometimes gives extra credit to make up for it. TAKE HER!

What a great class. Even though you can't talk in it, she goes to great lengths to make sure that we understand what she's saying. I've learned much more in this class than my friends in other sign language courses.

This class is interesting, but her extreme facial gestures and stupid looks can really annoy anyone. She over exagerates everything and her tests are tricky!!! Theres NO, and I mean NO talking at all during class, also, so it makes it hard.
