Honestly the worst class I took at UPG purely because of him. Last minute he completely tanked my grade that took a hit on my GPA. He isn't a good professor and does not really care about his students' time or money. I'm typically a B+/A student and I got a C in his class. 180 characters isn't enough to express how bad he is lol

I would suggest avoiding. Very hard to follow, can be rude when asked questions. Grading is too opinionated based on his own views. Tells you to study mastering biology for tests, but that doesn't always help. Unclear on what he wants on essays. It will help you at least get a passing grade. He does belong in research, not teaching.

I've taken Dr. Savisky for several classes at UPG. He's not an easy teacher by any means, but I feel his tests are directly from the material. He was fair at grading and easy to talk to. If you study the material and read the book you will do fine. All of his test questions come the book and the power points. He wants to see his students do good.

I had Savisky for Big Ideas in Science. The class is good for non-science majors, but he will make you work for your grade. He gives no extra credit, takes points off for everything, and all of the tests and pop quizzes are short answer. There is no book but you will have to write 7 debate papers. Helpful and funny!

I had him for Big Ideas in Science. Don't take this class if your just looking to get an easy NS credit because he will make you work for it. Hes very interesting and definitely knows his stuff but hes not very sympathetic on grading or if you have personal issues. Lots of group projects so if you get a bad group then your in for a tough class.

Dr. Savisky is not clear at all. He may help with the material but gives too many opinions, making it hard for you to understand what he wants. There are 22 pop quizzes, so skipping really isn't an option. As long as you read and stay up to date you should do fine. Although, I would not recommend this prof. If you do not have to take him.

Prof. Tim was very interesting to talk to in and outside of class. He is very passionate about his field and uses this enthusiasm to inspire his students. He wants everyone to do well, but don't expect to be handed a good grade either. Tim was always available to talk or help clarify something. Also, he uses real life examples to explain things.

This guy would be better off doing research. If all u need is 1 point, this guy will screw you over, despite the fact I stayed and watched all his silly movies. If you have to do his debate make sure you bring something in to persuade your classmates to vote for you, like grilled chicken.

Teaches fast from powerpoint. Does not know how to teach genetics beyond Punnett squares. Says throughout the entire semester how each test will be curved, then does not curve even close to that at the end of the year. He curves off of "how many A's, B's, etc he thinks there should be." Avoid if possible.

He reads right from his powerpoint, but does not explain them. You have a test every 2 weeks and he doesn't put the powerpoints online until 2 days before the test. The class average is a 58%. He is a natural science and geology teacher.Should not be teaching BIO 2. does not know much about the genetics part of it. Not Recommended

He believes Bigfoot is real. You will be tested on whether or not Bigfoot is real, and you will have to answer "yes" if you want to get the question right. Besides that, though, he can be funny at times. But he expects way too much from you for such a basic, filler course.

im sorry but prof. savisky is absolutely useless i have been a college student for 3 years now and from different universities including villanova and st.vincent and he is by far the worst prof. i have ever had. its an easy class if u take notes and read the chapter but he is just useless. i mean they'll let anyone teach these days.

This man drove me crazy during my undergraduate studies at UPG. I could never find him when I needed him. He's hard to talk to and not encouraging at all. Not passionate about his field so there's not much to learn from someone like that.

His tests are a bit challenging due to the wording, but come on... they are multiple choice and this is college. It isn't an easy A, but if you take notes and pay attention it isn't that difficult. The quizzes and group work discussions will help bring your grade up.
