Fritz is a great professor and an even greater friend. If you want a professor who is dedicated to students, he will be your guy. After 4 years of knowing him, there will never be another professor at IU so caring and compassionate. I can't do him justice in so few words but please take his class.

Fritz is a professor that needs to be experienced. You will either love him or hate him, but I would say the majority love him. Lots of people take other classes of his. Discussions wander wherever they will, but Fritz is a great facilitator. He cares. He'll be your friend if you want him to be.

I first took his honors walking class because I heard it was easy, and admittedly it was. But I enjoyed that class and our discussions more than just about all the other classes I had taken, so much so that the following semester I sought out and took another class of his. Fritz so far in my college career is the only prof. I would call a friend.

I took his honors walking class, which challenged how I thought about the smallest things. We also had excursions like group and partner walks around campus. The most challenging thing was the 15 page paper at the end but you could turn it into a project (one girl did a photography assignment). If you want more proof, look at his grade distribution

Dr. Lieber is sososo wonderful and I will miss his class dearly (Happiness seminar). I felt that I grew personally through his class in addition to improved public speaking confidence and writing skills. He cares 4 his students so much and is such a genuine individual. I plan on taking another class with him (IDEK IF ILL HAVE ROOM) but recommend!!!

He not only has quite the personality, but is also very helpful at giving feedback and helping you strengthen papers and essays. He brings up interesting perspectives and points of view during lectures, and is interesting to talk to during office hours. Overall, I would grealty recommend.

I love Lieber. One of my favorite professors at IU. He's very funny, a bit scatter brained, but he loves his students. He will assign you super long readings, though. It's always helpful for your papers though. He gives plenty of feedback.

Dr. Lieber is one of if not the best professor I've ever had at IU. First of all, he is absolutely hilarious and has some of the coolest life stories ever (one involving MLK). But more importantly, he genuinely wants his students to succeed. He's incredibly engaging, caring, witty, and encouraging. If you have the opportunity, TAKE DR. LIEBER.

Comment:
Dr. Lieber is great! The classes are socratic seminar based. We sit in a circle and discuss the articles that we have read. Each week there is about 30-50 pages of reading. Class can sometimes get boring but Dr. Lieber tries his best to keep the class engaged. He is really friendly and easy to talk to about anything. He is also a lenient grader.

Dr. Lieber is awesome. I don't feel I can do him justice in 350 words. Cares about students more than any professor I've had at IU. He is a little all over the place, but that's part of what makes him lovable. Getting to know Dr. Lieber is the best thing that has happened to me at college. Take a class with him!

Great professor. Favorite one at IU. Discussions are great in class (you do need to say something, though). No textbooks, just readings posted online, but was a lot of reading, about 40-100 pages a week and papers took a long time to write. He really loves his students. Take a class with him if you can. Best intensive writing class choice.

Best professor I have ever had. Intensive writing course. Had great comments on papers and always accepted rewrites, provided you used all of his comments. Truly passionate about teaching. Very helpful and willing to meet and discuss your papers before and after you turn it in.

If you have decent writing skills and enjoy an outstanding discussion environment this is the best class you can take at IU and the easiest way to completing the Intensive Writing requirement. Get off of this website and go register for one of Dr. Lieber's classes. Seriously. Go. Now. Just do it.

Basically, you read articles for every class, and discuss them. You also write 3 3-page papers and 1 10 page paper. All in all, it's a little bit of work, but Lieber is interesting enough. Get on his good side: go to class ALWAYS, read almost always, write coherently.

Overall, I'm glad I took this class and would take it again. He's very silly sometimes but that makes class a big more fun. We only had one major assignment - a 20 page paper. He was very lenient though and let us co-author and submit a smaller paper. I didn't put much effort or thought into this class, although it was kinda of fun sometimes.

The class doesn't invlove a lot of work and some people will call it worthless, but I learned a lot about myself and started asking questions that I would not have asked without this class. I reccommend taking his classes.
