By far the worst professor I have encountered in my high school and college career combined. How he is still a professor here, I do not know. Do NOT bother stating your opinion or questioning his grading (which is not accurate) because nothing will be done about it. Most teachers welcome class discussion - his hearing problems don't allow for it. A very tough subject to grasp, yet no one can ask questions due to his inability to communicate. It's hilarious that he is in the communications field

Absolutely useless as an internship advisor. The more I talk to him, the less I respect him. Very high on his horse for what he actually provides to students. Even rude sometimes. Knows jack about broadcast, so I'm left wondering why I still have to deal with some print guy; he has no clue what my internship actually entails

Jesus Christ this guy is so bad, it's truly unbelievable that he makes over $60,000 per year. Yeah he may be smart, but you can't get anything out of it, because you can't understand him at all. Take paxton instead or change your major.

Nothing against the guy personally, but he is one of the worst instructors I've had in my college experience. A typical class consists of him throwing up notes on an overhead (that's right, an overhead) and mumbling through them. I have no doubt that he knows the field well,but his lack of clarity or interpersonal skills overshadow that.Do not take

I think people are just not ready to step up to a college level class. This isn't high school. And Mr. ****son makes it so easy. Yes he is fast and does his notes quickly but you know he doesn't have to give you any notes at all. He offers a lot of easy points in his class. Just go and pay attention. You'll be fine.

While he does know a lot about print, he is hard to understand. Take him if you have a lot of patience! Broadcasters - avoid at all possible costs - he knows nothing! PS - I'm not lazy and I hated each minute of class with him.

These two classes were the best I have ever taken at SMS. People have complaints about Dickson, but I think it goes to show how many students are just lazy. You learn a lot of really important information, and you learn it right. So what if he doesn't tolerate laziness? It IS a college class.

He is mostly deaf. He does mumble. Not a great teacher. Really boring with his OLD, very OLD stories; that he thinks are funny...they are not. Just do the and revise it to what he wants and you will at least get a B. Maybe an A.

Dr. Dickson doesn't hear well, and does mumble a bit, but that should not exclude him as a goldmine of information (both historical and current) regarding the law, a subject that FEW are able to grasp fully, anyway.Study the reviews sheets and you'll be fine.

Dr. Dickson has a wealth of knowledge but immature people can't seem to look beyond his limitations. He mumbles a bit-and has difficulties with hearing-but sit in the front-go to his office and visit-he has a lot to share. Those who have difficulty just aren't too bright and/or are broadcast majors.
