Her class consists of 8 papers and 8 responses. She is very specific in what she wants. Make sure you do it or you will lose valuable points. She requires 2 scholarly articles in every paper, the use of the videos she provides, and the textbook to be included in each paper with a min of 350 words. Only 2 tests. Do the work and you will get an A.

Professor Reed is amazing! She is really nice and cares for her students. The grading system mainly revolves around the novel analysis paper, a couple of tests, and group work. It is a lot of work, but it is worth it because she helps out a lot. 10/10 would recommend for sociology!

She has a very clear syllabus on what to expect. You have a midterm, a final and a novel analysis paper that includes a presentation. There is a weekly group assignment as well. Great class for someone who just wants to get past the basic gen ed and move on. Show up, do your paper and you'll pass.

Professor Reed inspired me to reach way beyond what I thought I was capable of. At 60 years old I decided to go to college and at first I thought I could never pass her class but she guided me and helped me by raising the bar. She is my favorite Professor and I would love to have her in another class if possible.

I took soci101 as a fast track class, easiest A I've ever gotten. Mid Term and final are the only tests and they are both online and you get 3 tries on both, she takes the highest score. I got 100% on both. My favorite professor yet. She cares a lot about each student individually. Lot's of engaging group projects that aren't busy work. 10/10

The kind of teacher that takes 15 points off of a 50 point assignment for miniscule details. In a class where OPEN discussion should be the forefront, that is not the case here. If you don't believe the world is unfair to minorities, that will negatively effect your grade.

Reed is obviously very well educated in sociology. She gets really into the lectures with many stories and applies it to life. Make sure you read the textbook because sometimes the lectures get behind. If you need help see her during office hours and put in extra effort. Few assignments and she grades tough. I wish she taught more sociology classes

I am currently taking her Spring semester online there are not a lot of grade opportunities we get graded on 6 discussion forums (50PTSea.)and 2 exams (50PTSea). Grades tough and doesn't always replies to emails. I always go to writing center for her assignments and she always writes back "need to go to writing center) test are super easy!

Professor Reed is a great teacher! I really enjoyed her class. I will say it was really lecture heavy and I'm more of a visual person so it was tough to pay attention, but I learned a lot from her class. If you need a good Soc professor that will tell you what you need to know, take her!

Sociology 101 was the first college class I took and I loved having Professor Reed. She makes the topic interesting and pushes the boundaries. Everything she says is interesting because she's very animated. If you want to pass this class, show up and do your work. The class was not too hard but it does require effort. Don't procrastinate!

She grades tough and gives useless cut and paste feedback. Her online class was full of huge errors. When asked about the upcoming assignments listed on her class, they didn't exist even though they were in my grade book. No way to catch up with few assignments graded to very high standards. Her responses to me were cold and unhelpful.

I found this to be a very difficult class even with Professor Reed's clear grading criteria. She was such a tough grader and there weren't very many assignments to level out your grade. Overall there were two exams, one term paper and a weekly discussion assignment.

This professor, although very nice and is always willing to talk and has extensive knowledge in the field of sociology, did not teach me anything useful. She stood there for three hours and lectured in a slow and monotone voice. She assigns one paper and two exams, so those plus participation points are all your grade relies on. Do not take her.

Professor Reed was awesome. As long as you make an actual effort in the class it's not hard to pass at all. The tests were all textbook and online for my class at least, and the novel analysis is the biggest assignment. She knows her stuff and actually applies her lectures to real life, loved it! Just participate

For this course Ms. Reed teches strictly out of the book. She does give a few group projects and a couple tests. The most important thing for this course is the research paper she assigns. Get an A on the paper and you can pass, get an F and there's nothing you can do to save your grade. She will walk you through the paper step by step. Good luck!

Dr. Reed was great. She gave lots of real life examples of concepts. Test were fairly ambiguous. I didn't study much, just went over concepts the night before. Passed this class as well as SOCI-125 with an A. She give a paper which is super easy. She is a great prof, I loved her! It just takes awhile to get used to her teaching style.

all I can say is I had fun in her class. She is very articulate and knows her stuff. True, it is a lot of lecturing however, what would you expect for a sociology class. Prof Reed I had a great time in your class thanks for all the help you provided me...
