Honestly, he's a nice man. As long as you're honest with him, he'll be understanding. HOWEVER, his class is still incredibly lecture heavy. He's a tough grader on essays and tests. His test questions are mostly identifying quotes and speakers. There is never a review about what to expect on the tests. I DO NOT recommend!!

A wonderful lecturer. However, I found the course very test heavy and test questions too specific with not enough time to cover all the information in good detail. It is necessary to prove that you have done all the readings and noticed the key points he made in class. A very difficult class for me. Pop quizzes over the books!!

I had Dr. Jodz back in the early to mid 1980's for a variety of classes. Heavy reading load, you certainly knew you weren't in high school any longer when sitting in his class. Managed to get a couple of A's from him on papers, but had to work hard for them. Lectures were interesting and varied. We all respected him and he respected us.

The course code is a undergraduate level but I am a graduate taking the class. The professor did not give any extra work for me even though I was the only graduate in class. The class was compromised of ten books (6 fiction) and these ten books became the 'book club' that I paid quite a bit for. As far as a history class goes it was unstimulatin

Great man with a great sense of humor. Lectures are full of information, which may cause confusion while studying. Tests are tough and expects a lot of detail but if you stick to the main themes (written on the board) and throw in some dates you should be fine. Easy to talk to and willing to help.

Dr. J is a a great teacher! He really wants students to get the "big picture" of history. His tests are certainly challenging but if you do the reading you'll be fine. He assigns a lot of reading so it is important to keep up.

Jodziewicz has a bad reputation, but he's honestly not that bad. He's a tough grader on tests, but he grades essays very easily. Just read the Johnson book and you're fine. I got a B without trying very hard at all.

Demanding, but meticulously fair. Remember to properly format your footnotes and not make "it's" possessive. Jodz is great guy. Go Sox.

Teaching aside, this man is the best. He's one of the "oldies" at UD, been around since the late 70's. You can tell that he truly loves his job and his students. You'll see him at daily mass and around campus at many of the extra curriculars. A great and holy man, a class taught by Jodz is essential for a UD education.

I took the late great June Welch for Am Civ I which was a very easy A but I am not sure I learned a lot. I delayed Am Civ II until the Spring of my Senior year having been gone from college a couple years in the middle also. The class was tough, as advertised, but even in his criticisms I learned a lot. Great class. Great man. A rite of passage

He's actually a very good lecturer. Makes the class interesting, but acts like you have nothing else to do other than study history. The reading load is insane, tests are very arbitrary. 70% essay and 15 completely random multiple choice questions. Tough grader. Would not recommend to anyone.

This is not a history class, this is a class of life. He, the Jodz, clearly understands the meaning the meaning of life and seeks to impart this knowledge on us mortals. It is very clear that he is a demi-god. To doubt one of his teaching is to doubt life itself. He is and always will be. The earth trembles as he walks, and all are silenced.

Jodziewicz is very funny, but his tests are extremely difficult. He is a fairly tough grader on essays too. The tests are mostly quote recognition and essays which doesn't sound too bad, but they are pretty tough. Overall though, he is a good teacher and he keeps his lectures interesting.

Contrary to popular belief, God did not rest on the seventh day... he created Jodz. Unlike most superheros, his attire consists of a sweater vest and a Red Sox tie. A unique blend of Chuck Norris and Dumbledore, Jodz parts the Red Sea of Awesome wherever he goes, and leaves the rest of us to ponder and murmur about our meager existence.

It is better to define him than right a review. Jodz is the first and the last of professors. There is none other like him and he is "The Good" we learn about in Phil and Eth. He is also known by his pen names: G.K. Chesterton, Churchill, Dickens, Babe Ruth, and Santa Claus. He teaches in the temple of Gorman C. His throne is in Braniff.

Jodz is the man. Hysterical and entertaining, he makes you love history as much as he does. While his class is definitely not easy, it is worth it. Take him if you can, but be prepared to work.

Jodz is one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures are hilarious, informative, and interesting. His tests aren't easy, but if you do a decent amount of the reading and take good notes you'll do fine. BUT his reading load is impossibly huge and he's a fairly hard essay grader. Overall, though, he's a must take!
