Comment:
Professor Rued is one of the nicest professors I've ever met but when it comes to teaching his classes are almost unbearable. You have tests worth 80% of your grade and participation worth another 20% and that is it (there is also an extra credit assignment worth 12 pts.). His tests were extremely hard, so make sure to study ALOT.

I feel bad giving this review because Dr. Rued is the sweetest guy! He's so passionate about what he's teaching but his lectures are a snooze fest. The only grades are participation points (in class OR online discussion board) and the tests (hard but he curves a LOT). I got a D on every test but he curved them so much that I got B's. A real one <3

Comment:
Dr. Rued is always willing to answer additional questions and explain different ideas. While he is very lecture heavy, he does a very good job at explaining material. At times, I thought he repeated information from previous classes because so many kids were absent. He posted all notes online, so I was surprised students did so poorly on tests.

Comment:
Dr. Rued is extremely knowledgable, helpful in and out of class, gives good feedback and encourages discussion and thorough engagement in the material. Lectures are sometimes difficult or confusing due to the subject matter, but putting in the effort and asking questions pays off big time. Take advantage of this prof's wealth of knowledge.

Dr. Reud is a very kind and enthusiastic professor. He is very willing to help students if they seek the help. He is excited when students ask questions and really try to understand the material. The lectures can sometimes be a bit confusing, but that is more due to the nature of the topics than his teaching abilities. Study hard, don't overthink.

very nice man but lectures are boring and useless. his tests are so hard and confusing. he does let you have the essay topics prior to the test so u can prepare. multiple choice are very challenging. taking notes and the book wont help you for the tests.

Mr Rued is a very nice guy, but his class was so boring that I wanted to cry. He always seems kind of unorganized and his lectures get confusing and go in cirles. He provides full notes on courseweb, but tests are hard. The class average was a C, even with a study guide and test essay topics provided beforehand. Wouldn't recommend this class...

He went off on tangents regularly and was very boring. I had him for Philosoply of Religion and I highly recommend not taking that class. I got nothing from it and it was a waste of time. He is a nice guy though but cannot teach very well.

Rued is a fantastic professor of philosophy. As a student of philosophy, I would highly recommend him at all levels. He is wildly intelligent, though he often pushes his own beliefs in the course material. I've taken more than one of his classes, and I can attest to his willingness to help the student pass. He provided FULL lecture notes online!

Do the extra credit its %pts not just pts! I ended up with an A! really nice guy but does push his own beliefs so write what he wants to hear and just pretend you believe it!

I'll admit some lectures were more boring than others, but it's all what you make of it. Participate and ask questions, and Dr. Rued will do anything he can to help you and clarify. He grades rather hard, but philosophy isn't easy. Try and talk to him, and you'll be fine.

nice guy but boring teacher, chooses readings/philosophers that aren't very interesting and hard to follow, there are are other philosophers who actually interesting and clear in their readings but he chooses what he thinks is interesting and not what most students would find interesting, exams were hard, notes are horriable, this class lowered GPA

Extremely knowledgeable & intelligent, which is obvious from his lectures in class. If he puts you to sleep (philosophy can do that), then you'll at least be entertained by his artistic renditions on the chalkboard.

One of the most friendly professors I've known at Greensburg. He is always willing to help out and is incredibly knowledgable. Do not take him thinking it's an easy A. You DO need to work, but you will leave enlightened if you follow through. No exams, just 2 long papers and 2 response papers. Take a nap before this class, as it gets kinda boring.
