Comment:

25 years later and things I learned in his class are still with me. He was brilliant and his passion for teaching was obvious. I am and was a Christian and he definitely did not share that belief. But unlike many of my profs he didn't ridicule or demean. Challenged and questioned absolutely. Greatly respected him and loved the classes I took.

Comment:

I took this class because I was curious about philosophy. Williamson killed any interest I had in studying the subject further. I realize he met an untimely early end. But if this guy was en route to being a great philosopher then the world was spared a great deal of baloney and nonsense.

I always said that I never would have known what a college education was suppose to be like if I didn't have him as a professor. Game changer. Excellent teacher. He left me wanting more. More people like him. Improve Your Reasoning, Oriental Philosphies, Looking At Philosophy. What is Justice? All the stuff at the reference desk. Thanks AMW

Comment:

I took Metaphysics and On Wisdom with Dr. Williamson 1992-1993. He was smart, perceptive, and oh so funny....always thought of him a bit like if Robin Williams had become a Philosopher. I still keep a copy of Pepper's World Hypotheses on my bookshelf. My Facebook quote is one he introduced in On Wisdom. Rest in peace Dr. Williamson.

Williamson was the whole reason I chose this profession of philosophy. I have no idea what I would be doing with my life if I hadn't taken his classes. He is still missed 10 years after his death.
