Petri is a great professor and a really cool guy. He is extremely helpful and super laid back. I had very little painting/charcoal experience and his class provided me with a foundation for these techniques.

Like everyone else has said, Petri is seriously the man. I took him for Contemporary Art and purposefully looked for a second class with him. He is very laid back and honestly one of my favorite teachers of all time. He is passionate about his subject matter and has a fantastic personality. TAKE A CLASS WITH PETRI, SERIOUSLY.

Contemporary Art. Best professor ever, keeps everyone interested, loves what he teaches. He seems like an older friend, very good with connecting to students. Exams are easy as long as you take notes in class. He assigned reading but we didn't really do it, only the homework. Take his classes!

He made this class fun. It was a very laid back course with looking at art and discussing it. We even doing some of our own work to make us better understand the artwork. There was a little busy work, but nothing very difficult. I enjoyed the class and I am not a big art fan either.

Nice guy. You just sit there and watch slides. There is a lot of reading to do but I never did it and still did fine. He mixes up the lecture with studio classes where you get to draw and play with color. There are papers due each week-only a page.
