I have never rated a professor so poorly in my life. Difficult instructor to even exchange emails with, asked for help never recieved.. Expects people to finish 5 modules an a quiz in 2 days after just taking an exam and 4 modules. Terrible.

She's the best! Goes over HW Q's at the beginning of class. She'll give you the review a few days before the exam/quiz and then she'll do it the day before in class. She does care about her students. She's an amazing teacher. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. If you utilize all the resources she gives, you'll have no problem getting an A.

Pro. Mingela is an amazing person and teacher! She explains very well and will go over it again until you understand. Homework and attendance are not mandatory, but if you don't show up you'll fail. Homework is great practice--doing this and asking questions will get you an A. 5 exams, 5 quizzes and a final. One of the quizzes is EC. Take her!

She starts off every class with questions on the homework, and does a great job explaining any questions that are asked. She does not blindside you with any quizzes or tests, and will make sure that you are prepared to succeed.

I notice quite a few reviews mentioning that she doesn't care about students and whatnot. Yes, she is very strict. But, she does her job well and is probably one of the best math professors at Schoolcraft. Her grading criteria and exam policy is very clear. She makes it quite obvious that there will be no exceptions unless of an extreme emergency.

I've taken Mingela twice. Very homework heavy but manageable. First class with her I got a 4.0. Then this term I had my wallet stolen and missed a test at the testing center without my ID. She refused to let me make it up, even with a police report and an appeal. I went from a 3.8 to a 2.6 in the class. She doesn't care at all about her students.

I took Mingela for MATH 053 online and I loved the class! The videos were very specific, and she would accept hw late for 10% deduction. The tests were very similar to the hw and the practice quizzes. I ended the class with a 4.0. Highly recommend if you're looking for an easy A! Have to do the work though.

I am not afraid of lots of homework, but her deadlines are crazy through out the week, the lecture videos have easy problems compared to the quizzes and tests. the online test have only a few questions so if you get one wrong you get an overall bad score. she has too many deadlines. I don't think she cares if your taking other classes.

The schedule/due dates w/ Mingela are crazy. There are 4-6 assignments due every 4 days including the day they're due! Plus the days you can take the on-campus exams are difficult too, only Thurs through Mon are the exams available. No Tues or Wed. exams, you only get 4 days to take them bc testing center is closed Sun. & shorter hours on Fri & Sat

I am not the best at math and I was nervous to take an online class especially for a 7 week course, but Professor Mingela was an amazing teacher and really seemed like she wanted everyone to succeed. There is a ton of homework but it is all extremely helpful when it comes to the exams. I would definitely take another course with her.

The format of this class was perfect for me. I'm not very good at math so having 1000 points available with only about half being tests was perfect. I failed this class on campus in the fall but will pass this semester with Mingela and MyMathLab.

I took her online class for Math 053, and I am currently taking her online 113 class. I love her and would take her for every Math class. In Math 053 I got 103% as my final grade. Keep due dates in mind and don't wait to the last minute to do homework or quizzes. Her practice exams are just like the real exam. Offers bonus.
