Comment:

Dr. Cheatwood is very knowledgeable in his field! However, he wasn't clear on assignments intimidating and didn't clarify the material. It was one of the most disappointing classes that I have ever taken in my graduate career. The class focused on writing literature reviews and had to work from a book as a guideline but it wasn't helpful at all!

Lectures were somewhat interesting and he has great knowledge but I didn't learn much about the topic. It should have just been a writing class becauase all we did was write huge papers without much guidence but that was all of our grade. Very disappointed with the class as we were never really given a clear explanation of what we were graded on.

I really enjoyed his Violence and Society course. He is very knowledgable and interesting and the whole class was very interactive. Alot of reading (4 books!) but if you're interested in the subject, it goes down easy. His tests are hard but if you study and read, you'll make an A. I'd definitely take him again!

This class was awful. His tests are so hard. His lectures are extremely boring. I thought this class would be interesting but he made it boring. When you go to him for help, he doesn't want to help you. Makes you feel like you are in his way. Very disappointed!

Nice professor. I thought his lectures were quite interesting and he's likes to crack jokes, I really enjoy his class but his test are pretty hard. Make sure to read study his guide and take notes!

He's a really good lecturer. If you read the chapters before you come to class, everything will be crystal clear. On the other hand if you dont keep up with the readings you may wonder how this relates to the topics. Attendance isntmadantory,but he gives 5 extra points if you attend class. Read the chapters and get the review guide.Great Proffessor

He class is enjoyable. His test on the other had are difficult. You will really need to study the book and the study guide is pretty much a must in his class. He will tell you its not required but don't listen. Get it and study it.(alot) He is a fun teacher and you wont want to miss. DO THE READINGS

i love this teacher. very funny and uses a lot of real world experiences. doesn't teach from the book, so the tests are hard to study for. no test reviews. as long as you go to class, you'll do well.

Prof Cheatwood is hilarious and makes coming to class worth it! Would take him again and recommend. HOWEVER, he doesn't give a study guide or review for the test. Have to know your**** (yes I just swore ;)

Professor Cheatwood is really cool. He has interesting stories to go with the material. It's an easy class, but lots of reading. If you buy the Notes Packet, everything should be alot easier since the test questions are almost word for word in those notes. I got A, but it really takes some getting used to as he doesn't teach from the book.

I thought he was interesting and he kept his lectures far from boring, but I think his tests were VERY difficult. Even after studying his packet and taking notes on lecture, I felt like I wasn't prepared for his exams. Since the exams are the only grades, it made it hard to make an exceptional grade in the class.

Excellent instructor, full of information. Made an A and learned tons about crime. I was not aware people in his classes were offended by his language. I was never personally offended, it never distracted from the information he was providing. To do well you must attend class, study and read, ya know normal college stuff. I would take him again.

Great teacher....you do not need the book to make an A he gives you all the lecture notes in a packet!!! Hes funny and keeps you interested but if you have virgin ears and get insulted dont take this class...for mature people only. Excellent teacher!

I was disappointed with this class on the whole. I did not find his constant swearing entertaining or educational. If I wanted to learn just about the statistics on crime and not the people behind them..I would read the newspaper more.

u do have 2 read for this class but you have notes that he reads from. if u study the notes you will do good on the test. not a slacking class but if you read u will do good. he gives extra points for attendance but its not mandatory. i have a b and i read and study the night before. with my attendance points i might get an A.
