Comment:

Dr. Desoky gives very good lectures which helps one to understand the material. The assignments are also extremely relevant as far as what can be expected on the exams. He is an excellent and dedicated instructor and a very, very good and knowledgeable mathematician.

He explains materials slowly and really well, buIlding on logics. When you understand simple mathematical concepts deeply, it can be really fascinating.

I have took several course from Dr. Desoky, he is very nice and always records his class as video. When I meet problems I can go back to watch the video.

Comment:

He's one of the better CECS professors. There are two midterms, a final, and 6 homeworks, and each of those categories is 25% of your grade, but everything is open-notes (so don't screw up on the few assignments and you'll be fine). All of the content could be learned in a day, so I'd suggest throwing it on as an online course if you have space.

He is a very slow paced lecture type of teacher and very good at explaining things in depth. He wants you to have a basic understanding of a lot of math material and I would recommend this class if you've taken DE or are taking DE at the time of this class. A lot of logic involved and would recommend answering his questions in class. Few tests/hw

He's a very good and smart professor but does grade very hard. Those who do poorly don't know how to try hard or have a good student-professor relationship. When you actually ask him questions in person, he will give you a good and thorough answer. Dont think you can hide behind an email and not show up for class, and still get his full attention.

I took 419 with Dr. Desoky, his lectures are confusing and you cant understand his hand writing. he help if ask for it and go to his office, you dont learn that much in this class. grading is easy, he is very lean on grading. over all i passed the class without that much work.

absolutely worthless guy. does not reply to emails. if you have a confusion about your grade or study matter he turns deaf.not trustworthy. tells something and does something else. DONT TRUST HIM under any circumstances. in terms of giving grades he is a dictator of his own rules. Never ever take class with him.

Great class, and he knows his stuff, but his english is not good, and that drags down the usefulness of the lectures. This is a class where you learn the basic concept in the lecture, and really figure it out by programming it.

Absolutely worthless when teaching an online class. He quit posting lecture notes after a few weeks and absolutely would not respond to emails. Most of the lectures that he did post were Xeroxed from another book. Avoid if at all possible.
