Alan is a terrific teacher and an all around fun guy. He makes class, and learning, so much fun. He teaches what will be pertinent in the real world, not in the textbook world. Take one of his classes, you will not be disappointed.

Great teacher. Didn't use the book at all, told us to take it back at the beginning of the semester so we weren't wasting our money. We talked about everyday life and topics that we could relate to. the book was business ethics and the class was technology in society. I wouldn't want any other to teach that class.

Alan is a nice guy and means well, but doesn't 'teach' in the classic sense(something necessary for learning the methodology of breaking down CAD problems). What you will get with a majority of Alan's classes is essentially a study hall with technical support. If paying to teach yourself and learning at your own pace is your thing, then go for it.

ALAN IS A GOD AMONGST THE TEACHERS AT OWEN'S. He is by far the #1 prof here and if you can take his class, DO IT, even if it is way outside of your major. I have no doubt in my mind he is a superhero at night and has saved the planet on numerous occasions, HE IS JUST THAT AWESOME!
