Course topic: Love. Dr. Hooke is a very good professor. He has a gift for presenting very old material with incredible relevance. He's a nice guy, fair, and not difficult. My only complaint is that he has much more knowledge than he shows in class. He spends too much time on the surface, being anecdotal. It's philosophy, and he needs to go deeper.

Hooke's teaching is really chill and he never goes the full class time. I've gotten A's on every single paper, even some that I B.S'd in like 30 minutes. There are NO tests and only THREE papers which are all only 3 pages and hella easy. You just act like you understand the reading in the papers and you're guaranteed an A!!!

three grades 90, 80, 70. he is so boring, complete waste of hours every week. Seems to be nice unless you miss class. then he gets mad, and find ways to get even like failing my friend for writing a paper that was not exactly what he had in mind. shouldn't be a professsor. just talks.

Alex Hooke conducts one of the least involved courses ever. So far I believe it is crazy easy

Loved this class! Had professor Hooke for Logics as well and would recommend his classes to anyone! Only a few assignments that were very straightforward, mostly in class dicussions!

So easy going and super nice! Only 3 short papers to do, easy grader. No tests! Mainly just discussed current events in class. Doesn't mind if you miss class for the most part.

Gets distracted sort of easily, but most of his ramblings end up being pretty relevant. The class would've been easy to drone on and on about but he made it relevant to current events and is VERY lax about due dates and tests.

Take his class whatever it is. Classes are interesting and very laid back. He talks really fast sometimes mumbles, but you get the gist of what he is saying. Not strict on due dates at all, and a very easy grader. Lets you make up your own essay topics if you don't like the ones he assigned. Very understanding & just really really nice.

Out of all the teachers who teach this course, I would definitely recommend Professor Hooke. I had him twice a week and he never really taught for the entire class period. Class attendance is not mandatory but you should attend when he assigns essays because they're worth your entire grade.

I expected much more out of a professor of philosophy, especially on the topic of Nietzchie and he really disappointed me.

(Logic) I've taken DR. Hooke before. Loved that class. He is very witty and makes the class fun. 1 project at the end of the Semester. Homework every night, but you don't have to turn it in. Class lasts ~30-40mins. HOWEVER, I learned a lot from this class. Maybe other professors should adopt his teaching strategy.

AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! What a fun class. I always looked forward to his class discussions. The classes were really short but I learned tons. If you read what he says too and do the excercises (they are not much he makes sure that they are short and to the point, he really only makes you read what you need to know) you will get an A!

Took him for Logic, was the easiest teacher ever! We were never in class the whole 50 minutes and he usually gave us days off (usually Fridays!). No projects, just a couple tests. No homework to hand in, just went over in class, so he doesn't care if you do it or not. I definitely recommend him!
