Gerry was an excellent professor. Looking back, he was my favorite professor throughout college. He was a fair grader, passionate and knowledgeable about his profession, and super quirky and funny. I left the class with a knowledge and appreciation for a subject, geology, I previously knew nothing about, nor appreciated prior.

Comment:

He's quite funny in an interesting way and very knowledgeable. Some lectures are interesting but sometimes it's just droning about sediment. His slides are unorganized and difficult to study later--and you must memorize everything in order to do decently! Overall not a bad class but study, study, study!

He was a great professor. I never liked science before I took his class, but I learned so much and had a ton of fun in his class. He is a very engaging professor and so helpful if you ever have any questions. Once, I was working on a lab worksheet in the basement of North Hall and he saw me and stopped by to help me.He's really great, take him!

Gerry is a cute prof with a lot of real-world experience that he loves to share with you. He expects you to do your share of work and study, but none of it is really that hard. I got a b for the semester without doing hardly any studying :) take him. he's amazing.

This is the hardest class I've ever taken in my life. If you're not a science major, don't take it. He expects WAY too much out of you. He tries to trick people on exams and his average is usually a low C on the first one. Let's just say, I have an A in all my other classes, and I'm getting a C in here.

Very cool teacher. its almost like having your grandpa as a teacher. nice guy, loves teaching students. he has jokes that are really dry but everyone laughs anyway. great prof!

I was dreading taking a science class, but he made geology fascinating. He has a cool dog he takes to class, too (although I heard there was some new law against it). He obviously loves the subject material and cares about his students. Labs are more difficult, especially if you're not math/science-minded, but they're manageable. Take this prof!
