Comment:

Probably the easiest professor I've had. His marking schemes are, for the most part, straight forward. Everything you need to know is in the lecture slides, and he puts them up punctually. A great teacher to have if you're already motivated and just want a quick credit. He will not make you terribly interested in Linguistics if you aren't already.

His assignments are fairly easy, but you can never be sure what grade you will get on his exams. Midterm/Final: There was no mode for our class; all the grades were spread out. The Prof is helpful, but CONFUSING at times.. ask ask clarify argue argue. The notes he posts on webct are his lectures therefore many ppl end up not coming to class.

i had him 3 years ago for 221 and i would have said he was the worst teacher ever, fast forward 3 years and i'd say he's one of the best. he's very clear, his marking isn't that bad either as long as you've been paying attention in class. but this isn't exactly the easiest class so, you'd better stay on top of things!

I liked his lectures a lot, but his exams were really REALLY REALLY bad. He did not give enough practice with questions before and he always crammed too much into the tests. I understood everything and did well, but I have a feeling most of my classmates were lost with his exams. It was his first time teaching the course tho.

I worried about the course when I registered it because his rating was so low here. Now, it's almost the end of the semaster, I can say he's one of the best teacher I've ever had. He respects student and give student chances to pull up their marks. he always answers student questions with a BIG SMIL

If you can take this class with anyone else... do it!!! Don't let the Prof. practice his teaching skills on you!! (He needs a lot of practice!) Exams were ridiculous - don't take this course if you like phonology b/c you'll detest it afterwards.
