Shes a great professor, dont let the other reviews get to you, yes the test are taken online there is 4 test, each worth 40 points. She gives answers to the test each class for people who are there on time, she starts every class by asking whats going on in the news? And is very willing to understand problems you may have, shes funny too !

This Professor is quick to point out errors based on Turn it In. But will not give feedback on specific errors or suggestions for improvement. Just hard judging and grading. I WOULD NOT Recommend this Professor to my Worst enemy (via online or campus). Waste of time, money & efforts. The Worst!!!!

taking her online, her discussion and assignments aren't hard however, her tests are pretty hard. she basically tells you to read the chapter, do study guide, but study guide does not list everything that is on the test. doesn't touch base on any topics on the test. tests are worth a lot of points.

Comment:

Prof Hay-Lavitt said that POLSC can be boring, so she tries to make it better by telling stories. It actually helps, and she's also funny. Her papers are easy A's. Make sure you take good notes because of the exams. She gives key questions and answers for the exam. Her exams are online so you don't have to show up to class that day.

For me I'd have to say she's not really clear on her assignments given, as it got closer to the end she got a bit worse. She does sort of give hints on what will be on the tests, although her tests are difficult. She's not really helpful & her communication with students are limited. Like any other class, take notes & study, etc

All of her exams are online which is difficult because you can't go back and change an answer. She doesn't go over everything that's on the test. Also the way she writes on the board is very confusing. She abbreviates everything.

She was a very nice professor. She is quirky, like many people say, and has a great personality. Her class is really easy. I dont think the tests are that hard. She gives out a lot of the test answers during class, which help a lot.

Good teacher, no busy work- 5 writing assignments, one term paper midterm and final. tests are online but difficult. Missed 4-5 classes and did fine. Wish she taught more classes.

I took her online class thinking it wasn't going to be such a difficult course, Instead it was the whole opposite. She does give you various things to respond to which weren't difficult, what I found disappointing is that her test were worth too many points and the rest of the forums were only worth two points which doesn't do much for you.

This is the second course I have taken with Prof. Hay-Lavitt, both of which were online. This experience was not as pleasant as the first. There was little communication or feedback throughout the semester. Towards the end she noted this was due to system issues. There were two exams and they were both very difficult. Get ready to do some work.

She's a great professor! She starts they day with, "What's going on in the world?" it's great. She is sarcastically funny. The only thing is her tests are kind of difficult, but just write everything she says and read, you should pass them.

Prof. Lavitt is a great teacher and well prepared. I am not interested in POLSC and I got a B. This is not an easy class, but if you don't miss class, bc she'll give hints about the tests in lectures, take good notes, don't ignore the study guides,do your writing assignments,5 essays and 1 term paper, and you'll pass the class. I learned a lot!

Great course, professor Hay-Lavitt, really wants her students to pass. The only issue I had was no extra credit and little to no clarity. However, it's very possible to get an 'A' if you put in the work. Recommended!

She is very helpful. Quizzes are based exactly to the lectures. Weekly assignment due from the textbook. Very easy. People don't pass because they don't attend class or take notes. You kind of have to do this, welcome to college.

I must have just had a bad experience with this teacher because I do not understand why she has such good ratings. She was rude and unfair. Her homework and quizzes were not overbearing but the quizzes were a little hard. Definitely study! I personally wouldn't advise you to take this teacher. A little boring but she tries to make it interesting.

Best Prof for this subject hands down! Gives very pinpoint study guides for tests, be attentive and you will do great! Few writing assignments, Midterm/Final only. Grueling 6 week summer class but very doable! Very kind and answers all questions, she wants EVERYONE to pass!!!!

Great teacher! Perfect class if you need an easy class. She is very helpful and wants her students to learn and pass. Gives you extra time on assignments and really good study guides for the test. Great teacher!

Not to hard of a class since it was online. Online classes tend to be easier. Pretty much we write in the forum each week and an occasional exam which is an essay. You really don't have to do much reading. Just skim through the book and the things discussed on the ezone site and you can get by just doing that even if you are the "lazy" student.

I took her online. Class is straight forward, and it's easy but the graded assignments are pretty harsh. You have to write really well and be able to give as many information as possible. I never received full credit in this class.. It was an interesting class, I could have gotten an A if I put in work.
