Extremely funny, and even more hilarious with her accent. You have to read because she expects you to have in depth discussions during class or she will give you pop quizzes. Our class never had that so I don't know how difficult. Tough grader on short reflection papers, but gives good feedback. I would take her again for sure.

Anca is a fabulous professor. Get to know her, and don't be intimidated by her, which may be hard at first. Very understanding & willing to help students when needed. Would highly suggest her to anyone. Also: READ THE ASSIGNED PAGES because the quizzes are important.

Took summer english with her and LOVED her. The one essay we did was open topic so we could write about any short story read. Very helpful in editing essays. Quizzes each class are somewhat hard, but do the reading and you'll be fine! She may not be for everyone but is very interesting and loves what she does and loves her students. Take her!!

Anca is really crazy (in a good way!) But she's very challenging. She's a very sweet woman though, she'll make you laugh. But there are definitely professors out there who get the subject across more effectively. Anca also will fault you on papers for not agreeing with her opinion, so keep that in mind as well.
