She's a solid professor. Her lectures are slightly boring but we have three quizzes, three 1 page papers, and a 3 page final. Do the work and you will pass. Also, readings are posted online but they aren't even necessary. She is really passionate and can talk about one photo forever, but just listen and sometimes it is interesting.

She's very sweet and passionate. If you engage in lectures she will like you. Theres only 3 quizzes and a couple on one-page papers. Easy A for sure. She also gives out an extra-credit assignment in case you need it. She doesn't care about attendance. Take her in case you need to take VSAR123

You may not like her attitude, but you listen and know how to act around her, she can be really sweet. She delays a bit in her emails, but she's willing to help during her office hours. Her lectures seem boring, but the subject matter is interesting. She's passionate in what she does, but she does get into a lot of tangents.

The lecture is not interesting, people would take naps during the class. Only gave a few quizzes and a couple of one-page papers. She is passionate but does not know how to make lecture interesting or keep students attention. Very easy A.

The class is really only one-paged papers every two weeks or so and quizzes. Class is boring if you're not paying attention, but she is an artist and very amusing to watch figure stuff out. Follow the syllabus and go to classes that cover the topics on the three quizzes. The final paper is four pages, and requires an informal presentation.

She is very lecture heavy, and I honestly get bored in this class often. Just a note, this is not a class where you actually take pictures, its more of the history of photography. I recommend asking questions, and actually going to class, even though you may feel the urge to leave. Her lectures, are not prepared, more of she says random things.

she says attendance is mandatory by making us sign in but literally only did it once the semester. She's very boring and kind of scatter brain not in a mean way she just really gets off topic and starts 8 different topics at once and finishes none. this was really just a relax class for me not to difficult passed with a B

Her class gets super boring at times because she just posts pictures and talks about it. I like that she is regarding real life issues. She often gets out of topic to discuss recent political or social issues. Love her ideas but her lectures are so boring

Easy class. Watch a film every week. You're assigned one film to write a paper on and discuss the film with the class. Midterm is a paper on your idea for a film. The final, you add other elements to your midterm paper. Grades really easy. You rock, Dr. Liss!!!!!!!!!!

Oh man, you'll either love her or hate her. Her lectures are very long & talks about a photo for 30 mins saying the same thing. Her test are very hard. Take notes. Theres a final paper as long as a presentation. Tough grader as well. Its not a lot or work she just makes the course more difficult then it should be.

I wouldn't take her again b/c i found her boring. The sad part is I was excited for this class b/c i love photography but I was disappointed. She tells you that you don't need to know the titles, dates and photographers of images but you need to know them for the midterm. All the work given is easy, there isn't much homework.

Great class and great professor. Sometimes the lectures would drag (but that's if you're not interested in the subject) she barely gives homework and is such an easy grader. Overall great professor and is willing to help if you were to need it (most people don't).

boring class but easy. no test just readings and writes ups of what you read 1 major research paper and like 2 small ones the small ones are like opinion papers. you present your research paper, just go and listen and read make sure you pick at least 1 quote of the reading to discuss in class.

She is okay, not the best, but not the worst. As long as you are there, do the homework, projects, essays and actually try and do okay on the Midterm and final youll pass with a B- most likely.

Liss is amazing! Her lectures are a little all over the place, but the content is really good. She definitely knows what she is talking about. There are a few large projects that make up your grade, so be ready to invest some time; however, as long as you try to understand the material, she is more than willing to meet you where you are at.

So Andrea Liss thinks she's extremely clear and the best teacher ever, but its quite the opposite. She goes back on her word every time you talk to her, and even in her lectures she doesn't make sense. She rambles on for an hour and fifteen minute class about 4 images and forgets what she's talking about a lot giving us the wrong information.

Professor does not make lectures clear at all. She puts pictures on the power points and just talks about them. When the exam and final comes, she doesn't say what will be on there or what to expect you just have to remember all of her lectures. No clarification and very rude when talk to her in person!! very boring class and hard to attend.

assignments are pretty Straight forward. Attendance is not essential to passing. She never takes attendence she does that when papers are due and that's how she knows you are there. She will post all her power points online. The midterm and final are the only test. Lectures are very very boring.

Her lectures are long and boring. She would say she won't get into deeper details about a certain photograph, but does exactly the opposite and drags on. She told us we wouldn't have to remember certain dates or artists for the midterm, but when the midterm came, she told us to memorize the dates that were shown on the slides.
