I ttook this introductory class to fill my elective requirements for my major. A took it as a senior. So I've seen many many professors by now. The course was interesting I enjoyed the related material required for the class. However Mr. Conteh wasn't understandable to me. He has a lot to say unrelated to the coarse. I will not repeat.

He is from Africa so you can't understand a thing he says. Gave no assignments or handouts and only talked. Tests were long and a lot were essay questions. I read this website and decided to take a chance with this professor but I strongly encourage you to avoid his classes at all costs!

I agree that it was a bit difficult to be motivated to go to class at times, because of the concentration of the material. HOWEVER,if you want to do well, you will. Most of the bad reviewers were very lazy- that's a fact because I sat in class with them whenever they decided to grace us with their presence. Just work hard and you'll be good.

He's very old and he can't keep up with the world plus he's doesn't use Email or phone so its too hard to keep in touch with him. As well as, wont accept other student opinions and he's really harsh to answer you back. I did my homework and I show up to class every day as well i did my research paper with all that he gave me B- I should have an A

One piece of advice, save your money and don't buy the textbook. Show up to EVERY class and take extensive notes. Sometimes he asks you odd questions, but just give him some political answer and he's fine with it. Be prepared to hear "consequently" all the time. But show up to class!

Professor Conteh's class is one of a kind to say the least. He's a very intelligent man and is very passionate about the law. He's very repetitive and is sometimes difficult to understand. If you take his class, get used to hearing "gentlemen and ladies". He literally repeats everything about 3 times typically. He's a pretty cool guy overall.

Horrible. Detached. Pompous. Arrogant. He may be intelligent, but it is hard to tell with the communication barrier. He'll expect you to participate in discussions that you will probably have no clue what he's referring to. If you try and defend yourself for miscommunication, he'll just dismiss you. He's always right.

useless teacher, very boring and keeps repeaing himself about stuff he doesn't even ask about in the exam. My advice is don't be in his class if you are an international student as he will ask you the most dumb questions that have usually no relevance. somehow managed to single handedly make me loose all interest in my major. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This man is brilliant. If you want to know anything about international politics, I suggest talking to him. He is close to retirement though, I'll be sad to see him go. Lots of notes. Blue book essay tests. You must go to class, he knows when you're not there.

His tests are super straight forward in the sense that he tells you the exact questions the day before, but there's always way too much and it's on arbitrary things. There 3 tests in the year and there's not much room for elevation is u start off bad. I suggest do not take him unless you have to.

A true scholar. His accent is thick, but he repeats himself often. Tons of notes and don't bother with the book. The experience in and out of the classroom was great. You have to put in the work, but I found his class very rewarding.

A teacher who truly understands international politics. Beyond being a teacher, he had cared about his students and pushed them to truly understand politics. He is the type of educator that all individuals should hope to have at least once. Dr. Conteh never judged an individual's viewpoint because of their ideology.

never take class with him, its useless, i sat at the back of the class and never took any notes but got C just for attending classes everyday. I never learn anything from him. People will just get good grades for attending classes and talking sweet to him but at the end students will achieve nothing.

The key to passing is taking notes on basically everything he says, which means that even though he doesn't take attendance, your test scores will reflect your attendance. I did well in his classes, but I put in absurd time in the library looking up scholars. He is a diplomat at heart rather than a political scientist and it shows in class.

Very boring instructor, his ascent is poor, he passes most of the international students just because they take his class and come to the class regularly, he favours international students, I know those international students who passed even though they don't know what they are writing in exams.
