Comment:
This was an upper level phil course about Metaphysics. We read Plato's Parmenides, Kant's CPR, and Hegel's Logic. The texts are difficult but he is an inspirational guide who encourages discussion in which many of the students participate in round table style. Definitely a course for Phil majors/minors to take. Must be passionate about philosophy!

Cutrofello is such a nice professor!! His lectures are very dry though, it can be easy to fall asleep. He's very kind and is ALWAYS willing to help his students. He is passionate about what he teaches and knows A LOT of material. Don't be afraid to ask questions! He will always answer and he loves discussions.

The class had two 5-7 papers and a final with short answer questions based on the books. The papers are graded by the TA & the final is graded by Professor Cutrofello. I didn't read/buy the books because he does a good job at summarizing the books & concepts during lecture. He's really caring and wants you to succeed.

Dr. Cutrofello is an incredible sweetheart, but his class is way too hard. The lectures are all over the place and very confusing, and the class is only graded on two papers and the final. Additionally, the TA grades the two papers, so it all depends on how they are. If you need an extension or help, ASK! He is SO caring and will help you succeed.

He is a great professor!! Lecture was sometimes dry. We had two papers and a final that was in class. I went to his office hours when I was confused about writing my paper and he gives great advice!! He wants you to do good in the class. Go to his office hours and get some advice on paper and he will look at your paper in advance. TAKE HIM!!!!!!

Good professor. We only had two 5-7 page papers in the class, a midterm and a final. There was a lot of reading, but he covered the topics well enough that I only actually read the first book (of 5/6). He is very considerate, and really wants you to do well.

He's an extremely nice guy, but his lectures are really confusing and dry. I got the impression that he was an easy grader, but the 2 essays (worth 84% of our grade) we were assigned were both graded by his TA who was an extremely hard grader.

His lectures tend to be all over the place, but just be sure to do the readings! The class is 2 essays and participation, so just show up and listen. I didn't take notes, I just recorded the lectures. He's super friendly and a really nice guy, extremely chill prof. Essays are very straightforward! I would definitely take him again :)

Take home final. Only two other grades in the class which were papers. You can go to him for help with papers and he basically writes it with you. I didn't have to read anything, just pay attention to some of the specific points each philosopher talks about and listen to some of the repeated topics in the lectures.

The lectures were long and hard to stay interested in. Midterm Paper 30%, Final Paper 60% and AttendanceParticipation 10% (although he never took attendance). A pretty lenient grader, and basically the prompts given can be answered by reading the selected part of the text. Overall, an okay tier 2 phil.

Great lecturer who talks from his head and not from a book. Class is two papers and participation. Fairly easy grader and gives good feedback on the paper. I recorded his lectures and then went back over them due to him being hard to follow since he is speaking extemporaneously and I can only write so fast.

Okay he's pretty chill, you can bully him into giving you papers for your midterm and final; but it was so difficult to keep up with his lectures. He just follows his own tangents. He's smart, but it was difficult and confusing trying keep up with him during my night class. Even if I asked a question, he'd just start another tangent

I found professor Cutrofello extremely hard to follow. He's a very intelligent man but uses no structure for his lectures, which results in what looks like him thinking out loud. Would be worlds better if he used a PowerPoint. Only a midterm 6 pg paper and 9 page final - lessonslectures that don't involve these papers hold no value to your grade.

He's really nice. If you need an extension he will give it to you. Although this class is boring and drawn out he will make sure you understand it. If you do not understand it then you need to ask questions. Tough readings but he will break them down for you. Good teacher. If you have to take this class, take it with him!

Show up, take notes, and listen. If you read what is required, and pay attention in class, you'll be ok. He will ramble a bit, but it's always interesting. If you have him for a 3 hour class, he will keep the whole time, rare as that may be. Just show up, read, and take notes, and you'll be ok in this class. Great guy who cares bout his class.

Class was pretty chill for the most part. He loves to talk and over-explain the text, but it is helpful since there was a lot of material to cover. Definitely a very smart guy and very approachable. 1 paper, final, and poem presentation. Overall it was a very enjoyable class, although his tone of voice can make you zone out.

You can tell that he is a really smart guy and he teaches without notes. Has the tendency to get off topic easily. I will say that it was an easy course, but he is so boring that it's painful. If you're looking for a 300 phil course and need an easy A - take him. One midterm paper and one final paper.
