Nice lady. Knows what shes talking about. Horrible at teaching. Teaches like you know the material already and moves way too fast. Take home test takes hours to do and has material on it that isnt even taught in class. Do not recommend this professor if you want to pass

She arrived as much as 20 minutes late to class at least once every two weeks. She taught from random sections of the textbook (e.g. 2.8, then 3.2, then 9.5, then 5.4, etc.) without ever listing them. The assignments and take-home tests often required learning things neither in the book nor mentioned by her, including complicated graphs in Excel.

If you want to fail stats, take this professor. miss a class, you're screwed and really behind take home tests 12+ hours to do admits to putting problems on tests she has not taught us gets mad and offended when anyone asks a question claims "it's easy" and that we should "just study" or we'll fail get ready to teach yourself with YouTube

I am not very good at stats or math in general. However, i did learn a lot from Professor Shaw's class. She explained things well, but she just teaches really fast. I had to rewrite my notes but i still did okay. Her office hours are when my class was so that kind of made no sense but if you talk to her after or before class she'll help you out.

Let me start off by saying I got an A in another statistics class that covered the same material before I took this one. I only took this one to boost my gpa. Again I got an A in the other class, yet I'm failing Shaw's class. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE professor. She could care less about her students and grades CRAZY hard. Talks to you like you're stupid.

The WORST professor I have ever had. She obviously doesn't care about her students. Her primary career as a nurse is given her full attention while her students are left completely lost. She assigns projects that she didn't teach us how to do and tells us to figure it out on YouTube. The tutors didn't even know how to help us. Don't take her.

She can come across as terse which probably turns some people off, but I think it's because there's so much material to get through she feels rushed to get it all in. Some projects are group assignments & the final was a take-home. You'll need to study. A lot. If your answers are wrong or unclear you'll lose points, but that's hardly unreasonable.

Dedicated five hours out of class each week studying with a group of five who took the class. Easy stuff if youre good with math but too much information in too little time. We learned a new topic every class. She was more concerned about her trip to NYC and her nursing career than actually teaching us. DO NOT TAKE HER

Great teacher, liked her style. Time is the issue here. Too much information to grasp in one semester. First half of the semester was ok. Lost her after chapt 5. A mouse and cat race. Best to read before class, read the book. Fast talker. Be ready to invest a great amount of time. You will survive her class if you read the book and keep up with her

Nice woman outside of class but a terrible teacher. She literally expects you to know half the material and when you don't she looks at you like you're stupid! She even admitted to forgetting to teach a skill because she thought wasnt sure if she told us or not. she is the reason I'm dropping the class! didnt even use the book smh!

The worse professor I have every had! STAY AWAY FROM THIS LADY!! She is more preoccupied with her nursing career to care about her teaching responsibilities. I retook this class and got an A with another professor. I think that she just doesn't know how to teach. Don't take her class!

I don't understand any of the negative comments about her. She is by no means perfect but if you do your work and ask questions during class you'll be fine. We had 2 tests as take home and I just don't get it. How retarted a person has to be to fail these tests. I got an A in her class and I didn't really do much. I'm not a math whizz either!

Worst teacher at Central! I warn anyone that is signed up for her class! This teacher does not care about her students what so ever! She expects everyone to just get the material. This teacher sucks. She comes to class late all the time and cancels class all the time. Her tests and quizzes are on nothing you ever learned in the class and her final exam was brutal. She never follows the syllabus and is so hard to follow! Cant even ask her questions without her sying! STAY AWAY FROM HER!
