Had several classes with her. An absolutely excellent teacher, makes you write write write, all the time, but I am a better writer for it, and she is a great discussion leader; knows how to get us working together, and makes us think deeply! I love her, she's great!

I really enjoyed this class and would recomend it to anyone. One midterm, one final, one paper. The midterm and final are in class essays. There is a lot of in class discussion. Overall, a very informitive class. I was actually worried going in because Im not an English major, but I was fine.

Superb teaching style. The class is based greatly around discussions - and as long as you read - you'll be fine. That shouldn't be a problem - the novels are easy reads. You'll learn a lot if you pay attention, and there's no reason not to go to class! Dr. Simpson gives me great hope in professors. Easily the funnest class I've had.

She is one of the worst professors I've ever had in my college experience. She is too distracted with her unbalanced 70's feminist philosophies to listen to a single thing anyone else has to say. She will dock you on papers if you write on something contrary to what she's lectured on. She is too emotionally invested in being right than teaching.

Took her for Eng 450, 306, 460. Brilliant professor. Best I've ever taken. Structure set up the same for all classes. One presentation (easy) try to go first so you can watch everyone elses for the rest of the quarter. 1 midterm, 1 final, 1 paper. Just do some reading and show up to class for discussion. She loves participation. Helpful & smart.

I have become a teacher myself because of Dr. Simpson. Her lectures are fascinating, her demeanor is warm, and she is dedicated to helping her students. She is by far the best English prof you could possibly take, so do yourself the favor of treating yourself to one of her lit courses!

I've had this teacher more than once and I absolutely love her! She is so sweet and makes the classes fun! She is always willing to help and make sure the class understands everything. She cares about everybody and doesn't want anyone to lost. I HIGHLY recommend her for every class she teaches!

All around an amazing instructor. Class discussions are interesting and thought-provoking; she knows how to approach a text from multiple angles to reveal the complexities of it. She also provides engaging topics for essays and presentations. All English majors should take a class with her at least once.

Simpson is by far the best English Professor that I've ever had. Not only is she a great teacher but she goes above and beyond her call of duty. Simpson doesn't only care about you as a student, she cares about you as a person. I'd take her again in a hearbeat.
