Lots of extra credit opportunities. Assumes people already know a lot about Indians. Posts powerpoints on blackboard. Smaller class where she tries to get to know you. Easy going and laid back class. 3 exams with study guides. Don't get behind on assignments.

Does not use textbook but has a print out you buy at the bookstore. Never used it but went to class. Sometimes does extra credit for attendance. Really easygoing professor.

My first B in college, and I'm a 2nd semester junior, was in this class, which threw me. She's not a bad person, she can be really sweet, but her grading is very inconsistant, which ultimately will affect your grade. Attendance is mandatory as she reads from a lot of articles in class and shows videos, both of which are on the exams.

Dr Martinez class was a blast, if y ou like to partipicate then the class is more interesting. This class that I was in had a lot of interaction, and Dr Martinez enjoyed it and interacted well, and was a lot of fun. One of the most inperational and supportive teachers I've ever had. Best professor I've had at Chico. This was my first Antro. class.

WORST TEACHER EVER! I have never been so bored in my life! Cataclysmic Events in Human Prehistory sounds pretty cool, right? WRONG! She reads from a piece of paper or out of National Geographic, she is rude to students and is the most bipolar grader I have ever encountered! I am re-doing my grad check so I don't have to have her next semester.

she would dish out tons of reading online, but wouldn't take any assignment via e-mail. She is also VERY proud of her background...she'll mention that every day.

She is great for lower division but in my 225 (California Archaeology) she was crazy. The people who were in there who have had her before said that she was like night and day on how she graded.

I think Martinez is a riot! She's also very helpful, so long as you don't waste her time with stupid questions. She's very approachable in her office. She's also got some good tips on getting into grad school! And hey, Baham digs her, so she couldn't be that bad, eh?

Well structured class and easy to approach when help is needed. DO THE READINGS. Must be ready to critically think about archeology and the many different theories that have been developed to explain cultural patterning.

She is very friendly and approachable. She grades on an appropriate scale (not to hard not to tough) you really should do the reading in her class but you can make it by with out it. Overall, I like the structure of the class 5 2page essays and 3 exams.

Looses papers and miss grades tests. Not helpful. Too busy to care about the students.
