The most amazing professor I have ever taken in all the years I have been in school. He brought the material alive and made it real for me!! Absolutely loved the man! I learned that "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation" and he was right on about that one!Thank u Dr Coleman, I will forever be in your debt!!

I took Dr Coleman's class when I was a student in 1977 and I can honestly say that of all the professors I had throughout my under graduate and graduate studies, Dr Coleman was the one who influenced me the most! Thank you Dr Coleman for all you taught me, I will be forever grateful!

He was so funny. He loved talking about himself and really weird things like how girlfriends should encourage their boyfriends to go to college because not a lot of males are enrolled in college. I loved him! If you do the in class writings and the very few assignments outside of class you'll do great.

Easiest class i have ever taken in my life!! As long as you take all of his in-class essay assignments YOUR GOOD! he talks about himself all through class which is boring but kinda amusing. Don't go to the bathroom during class he will yell at you

I had Dr. Coleman when I was a freshman in 1962. Because of him, I wound up majoring in English and loving literature. I became a high school English teacher. He was truly an inspiration to me. He even came to my wedding!!

You have to give him a chance. He tends to repeat himself and he has an opinion on everything but you have to give him credit hes 84 and still teaching. No papers he let us vote if wanted a midterm and final or just a final. Open book and you can talk to the people around you. Easy A take his class!

This professor was my most hated & most boring, until i had a chance to sit with him in his office & take an essay assignment i missed. He is so histerical, & makes the class fun once you get to understanding him. Grades are argumental and if you believe you deserve a grade, most likely he'll give it to you. Amazing teacher if you have patience!

I adore him!! He's hysterical & his mischievousness makes him even more amusing. He can sometimes repeat himself but his class is definitely worth taking. He has so much knowledge that he's dying to share. Ask him LOTS of questions!! The answers will be worth it. Tests are open book & you can talk to the people around you. Grades can be argued too.

Although I requested Elkin this semester, I felt lucky having this guy. He's 84 and is still teaching. Class is boring and we don't do anything cuz he tells odd stories about himself and how he appreciates being hated. Only a few very easy writing assignments once in a while. If you attend class and do the assignments, you'll surely have an A.

Yes, he is old and has some old-fashioned views which he WILL share with the class. But he's funny and nice and you can tell he cares about his students. If you give him a chance, the class is definitely enjoyable. And it's an easy A. I recommend this professor.

Prof. Coleman was the worst professor I've ever had. The class was an easy A b/c there were only 2 tests, the final was open notes, and you could ask other ppl in the class for answers. He spent alot of time telling us all how dumb we are, and tells alot of pointless stories about himself. I definitely don't recommend taking any class with him.

Dr.Coleman tells it like it is. Go into his class with an open mind and DON'T ARGUE WITH HIM! He is always rereading the course assignments and developing new opinions about them. The digressions are even more informative than the lessons. Talk to him after class and learn more.
