Such an easy class if you fail then you put absolutely no effort in. there is a lot of group projects and study for the test and take notes the review are not so helpful. if you do the work the test wont matter much you can still pass she tells you in the beginning what she expects and gives all the work so you can also work ahead.

She is AWESOME! Passionate, funny, interesting, & Brilliant. Only teacher I know that has the whole class discussing w/o knowing it. Sometimes we got so deep I felt like I was in the color purple movie BOL! Her tests arent your typical multiple choice. Assignments are fun & she gives extra credit randomly. Loves her students TAKE HER!

Mrs. Dawson is the BEST PROFFESSR I've EVER had at FAMU!!!! Her class is REALLY EASY!!! But most of all she's willing to help any and everyone who is willing to put forth the effort in her class!!! GREAT TEACHER! Loves what she does. Very knowledgeable in Black history (serves as director of campus Black Archives). Always willing to assign extra assignments to help students compensate for failed exams, missed homework, etc. Never met a person who had her and didn't learn a lot AND love her as a professor.

Dr. Dawson is by far the greatest history teacher I've ever had! I have never enjoyed learning about African American culture as much as I did in her class. The class is at night but it is well worth the time! You have NOT experienced Rattler Pride until you've had this woman! Be ready to laugh and have a great time!!

I absolutely loved her. She was extremely helpful. I took her class at night one time a week and absolutely loved it. I can honestly say that I looked forward to going to her class every Tuesday. Extremely easy and she is willing to give out extra credit. Just a few stupid assignments but they are not challenging in the least bit. If you take a night class, you will be let out early. If you have a certain amount of points at the end of the semester then you dont have to take the final. There is no reason that you shouldnt get an A or a B.
