Comment:

If you do take this class, READ EVERY WORK! Reading and writing is essential, as it should be in all education. They are all great books/excerpts that are worth your time. It is for professors like him that make me sure of going to college. I have never been more fulfilled and inspired by a course/teacher in my life. FIND WISDOM WITH FEINSOD!

Comment:

I think Dr. Feinsod is a nice guy, but does not teach very well. he reads off a powerpoint for basically the whole class. Every reading you have to do he expects you to KNOW. The class was boring and the pop quizzes count as 1/3 of your participation grade. I did not enjoy this class at all and would not recommend it

Comment:

Dr. Feinsod, though is an amazing analysis and lecturer, is not a good teacher. His class session begins and ends with him lecturing off a PowerPoint presentation that he doesnt finish. If you fail one assignment, dont expect to get an A by the end of the semester and dont expect to even pass his midterm or final-its impossible.

Comment:

Before each class we had at least 50 pages of reading due. The midterm was unreasonably hard, and I studied for over 8 hours and failed. When I went to his office hours, I felt I was being talked over and he didn't really care about how much I had studied. After the midterm over 2/3 of the class dropped due to failing. Lecture heavy every class.

The greatest professor at Indiana State University. I never feel so validated in myself as a theater artist than when I am in Arthur's classes. He expects a lot from his student, but only because of how much he cares about teaching. I've learned so much from Arthur's classes and have grown so much as a person.

Arthur Feinsod is a passionate, brilliant, theatrical genius- and he knows it. He takes theatre extremely seriously, and will weed out those who don't. He expects a lot from his students, and those who persevere are rewarded with his fierce and unyielding support and he will go above and beyond to help them.

Although the class was very difficult, I loved Dr. Feinsod. He was such a cute little man and really made me laugh. The only problem was the amount of work. Before class there was at least 40 pages in readings, 4 4-page papers, 1 8-page paper, midterm, and final. Just be sure to speak up in class.

Fantastic professor. I can honestly say this class changed my view on the world - but not without a lot of work. Prepare for lots of studying, writing, and only two tests.

Arthur is always made out to be harsh and gruff, but if you are in theatre, then you have to be! If you can't be relied on in class, then you will never make it in the real world! His class was fun and I learned so much from Arthur!

Very enthusiastic about the material he teaches. The class is demanding, but enjoyable. I didn't want to leave the last day of class. This class had 4 4 page papers, 1 8 page expansion, and a midterm and final. Otherwise, you just read and participate. Take his class if you normally wouldn't get to study art, phil., and lit. He makes it interesting

Arthur is a pretty awesome professor! He does require you do your work. So as long as you're a good student and do what you're supposed to you wont have a problem with him! If you're expecting to blow off his classes then you are SADLY mistaken. DON'T BE LATE!

Great Professor. Not the easiest but he forces you to put effort into his class. Which is good because you wont pass other wise. Not very flexible though when it comes to time outside of class. Tends to think the only thing we have to do is his class. Tends to hold class over. So dont schedule a class right after his.

Arthur is sexy. His class is very very demanding, but if you can't take the heat, get out of the spotlight! Arthur knows what the crap he is talking about...he's done theater all over the country and *world*...and if he doesn't like you, it's probably because you are a horrible actor or playwrite and you shouldn't be majoring in theater anyway.

He can be really harsh and unreasonable, but if you are a theatre major, you will end up HAVING to take some of his courses. A tip to stay on his good side: Do all your work, on time, never come late to class (he will embarass you if you walk in late), and speak up in class. If you don't understand something, ask him over and over again to explain it to you, because he interprets ideas and subjects differently each time...
