Comment:

The worst part about Math105 are the tests (by Schimke and that other idiot who teaches the other sections). A typical test in any course usually has some questions you can answer if you paid attention. The Math105 tests, however, only consist of 4 or 5 high-level questions. Miss any one of thse and you lose at least one letter grade.

On the first day of class he said, "I love to teach and I hope you love to learn." He's been teaching awhile, writes a lot on the board, answers all questions, and usually has a full day of class devoted to reviewing for a test. Although the class does require some work. If you read the book and do the recommended problems you will get an A or B.

Honestly this is probably thee hardest math class i have taken, just because of the teacher. Our TA was a way better teacher than Denny and I could understand the TA a lot more. Denny needs to be more personable with his students and atleast act like he cares. Instead of not caring.

Smart man, but very difficult class. My best advice is to look at the book before he teaches the material, he's easier to follow that way. Also, find someone who already took his class and get copies of their old exams. He tends to reuse a lot of the problems from previous exams.

Im still in this class and thinking of petitioning for a curve, he will not curve no matter what and the entire class average is 63%. There are about 5 people passing and they have all had trig before. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM IF YOU ARE NOT A MASOCHIST. 50 people were there, now its half way through and only 29 remain.

I'm bad at calculus and he really simplified things in our class and took a lot of time outside of class to help me if I needed it. He went at a steady pace, but would always stop to answer questions. We had take home quizzes every now and then which rocked. Tests weren't too bad either.

As a trig teacher, Dennis fails. he stands at the front of the class and makes jokes while scribbling some jiberish on the board. He goes so fast and explains little. I had trig before his class and knew what I was doing but now that I am in his class I no longer do.
