Comment:

Great professor! She expects a lot from students, but for those majoring in political science an A is very easy to get. Half the class would just play on their phone the whole hour so I'm not surprised by these comments. Take her class!

She is very unclear of what she wants done. She is passionate about what she teaches, however she does not like teaching this class. You have to read the book (which is a ton of reading) in order to get an A. Her lectures are long and boring, notes are confusing. Good luck.

Comment:

Dr. Johnson is a very nice person and does care about her students. During class Dr. Johnson tends to get off track easily, so somedays class will feel pretty pointless. While taking this class you will for the most part have to teach yourself the content. Her tests come straight from the book, so studying is mandatory. Overall good person.

Worst professor I've ever had. I can honestly say I didn't learn anything in the class. Her class consists of mumbling for an entire hour and a half about random not even consistent material relating to material that we will be tested on. Her tests are 100% based upon reading the textbook NO LECTURE. The class has absolutely no structure to it.

I do not see how people can put this lady down so bad in these reviews. Her teaching style is reflective of real life. She has a TON of work experience and brings that experience to class. Anyone rating her badly did not give her a chance. I spent time just hanging out in her office, she has tons of interesting stories. Always there to help.

Watching paint dry would be more beneficial than taking this class. Don't get me wrong, she is a very nice lady who tries her best but she is no longer cut out for teaching. She is always a step behind and has a stong liberal agenda behind her teaching. Nice lady, but horrible teacher! Do not take.

This teacher should not be teaching. She is clearly only coming for a paycheck and doesnt really care about the students and what they learn. Her lectures are always off of topic and the sylabus that we received 3wks into the class doesnt help. Her tests dont follow her study guides or her lectures or the book. MSU clean up house and get rid of her

This professor was unable to present her class syllabus for the first 3 weeks of class. Her study guides were unhelpful, which is obvious if you look at the class grades... which are unknown (she doesn't know the classes grades) Her lack of understanding of the english language is infuriating. Poor grammar, cant teach. I can not justify paying her

I like her. She is smart and knows her information. We've had several one-on-ones in her office. I enjoy talking to her and enjoy her as a professor. Perhaps some of the harsh rating came from students that did not try. She requires a good amount of work from her students. Overall grade: B.

She turns things into personal vendettas. It does not matter if you actually do the work and/or attempt to learn the material. Makes you wonder who she knows in the personnel department because I would be fired for simmilar workplace behavior.

I don't understand the negative comments. I thought her grading was fair and she explained exactly what is expected. The only complains is she does mumble a lot as someone mentioned and issues a state report the first month of the semester that isn't due until the last week! Very premature. Her tests are essay/scantron and vary with class schedule.

This was a bad class and she was NOT a good teacher. She mumbled a lot and used bad grammar. Her lectures were very boring and often included her own opinions on civil rights and how "the north" is more ****s than "the south." Her tests were okay.

Mumbles, doesn't like to be questioned, tests are impossible unless you can memorize the text book word for word, and is totally boring. Told us our intro class was at the level of a graduate class. Umm, if I wanted to take a gradute class I would go to graduate school thanks.

Possibly the worst professor I ever had. During Spring 2003, she flat out accused Iraq war supporters of being ****s for not wanting instead to deal with racial problems in America. Add to that that she didn't teach well and rambled in class, she's not good. Not good at all.
