Prof is very nice and understanding, she will help you get up to speed. but her lectures are quite boring, when you look around the room everyone is on their phones. her papers usually require alot of deep thinking and reading, this class is more a seminar than a "class" class, didnt learn much but if she organized herself I woudlve learned alot

Nice woman, incredibly boring lecturer. Disorganized, does not follow syllabus. Somehow takes the interesting topic of Freud and Psychoanalysis and makes it boring. Feedback is ok. Poor handwriting. Rambles forever. Lots of reading. She is passionate about topic. Strays off topic A LOT. Made me feel uninspired.

She is a good professor, easy going. Get on her good side! she loved me but i only passed because of my previous knowledge on understanding how to write good papers. 3 tests for me. first one was a in class essay exam, second was a group essay exam which i hated and "final" was paper. She doesn't really manage her time well, didn't stick to sylbus

She's "spirited" in the sense that she thinks shes connected to Freud.. unless she favors you AND your writing style, it'll be hard for you to get a good grade. If you're already signed up for her class just get involved in discussion and PRAY that she approves of your writing style.

She was excellent. Had an amazing presence, soothing voice, and you can tell through her energy that she was passionate about what she is speaking about. The concepts of Romanticism and the thoughts and philosophical views behind it are excruciatingly important to the develope of humanity, and this professor seemed to have understandthis importance

Comment:

Barbara is someone that I was lucky to meet in my lifetime. Moreso than a professor, her eccentric approach to the development of ideas and literary analysis is something that very few have a such an effervescent talent for. To be short - shes a wild genius, try to keep up and youll be all the better for it.

She's hilarious, kind of crazy, fun, and has met half the guys we talk about. She might be eccentric, but if you get to know her shes a blast. Don't get on her bad side though because she'll literally just rip on you the whole semester. Fun professor, sweet lady.

She is crazy, but smart. She expects you to read and participate in class. If you do that, then you will do well. Some of the material is a bit dry and boring, but she does provide handouts with notes on the different books. There is a lot of reading!

I have taken Barbs twice.I am not usually one who takes a great liking to any teacher, but her, I love! She may seem unorganized(because she is), so you have to bug her to stay on top of things. She is scary smart, so that may be why she seems confusing at times. She also appreciates a good sense of humor, so dont be shy. Just communicate with her.

This lady is out of her mind. She doesn't teach, but rambles on and on about things that have nothing to do with the required reading. She gave papers randomly without concrete subjects. Never really had a real grading policy, and the class felt like a waste of my time. Lost my midterm grade and didn't tell me until may! DO NOT TAKE HER!

I took her Modern Greek Literature in English Translation back in '92 at CCNY of CUNY, just to complete a required elective in literature requirement in order to graduate. Easy class,I did not learn much, but I read a few books from Greek poets and writers.She is a good person,from my homeland Greece,easy grader, expert in comparative literature !

Condescending. Self-righteous and pompous. Doesn't teach as much as impose her views upon her students, sporadically getting irritated at what she imagines her students are doing. I was in her class back in 1992 and still remember how downright nasty she was, and from these ratings, apparantly still is.

Goes from talking about the author of a book for two sentences then ends up talking about picasso as a communist and bike riding in greece. I have nothing against this woman but She is extremely unclear, and I believe has a superiority complex, she does not stay on topic. I tried taking notes but anything that she spews from her mouth is irrelivant
