Comment:

I took a few classes from Betsy. She expects a lot because she really believes students are capable of a lot. She teaches in such a way that also makes the students believe they are able to do the work and do well. Very inspiring person to spend time with. Very good professor. Group work occurs and very open class conversation.

Comment:

I didn't want to take this class but ended up enrolled in it to satisfy requirements for my major. It's challenging and really pushes you, but in the end, you'll have learned a lot. Betsy is my favorite professor at NDSU. She really cares about her students and is always prepared for class.

Comment:

Took Grant Writing with Betsy. It would be difficult for me to imagine a professor that cared more for her students and worked to inspire them. One of my favorite comments from her, something that stays with me, is when she said "You're in grad school because you're going to lead people one day." I always appreciated her confidence in me.

(grantwriting class) Compleat micromanager, does not even try to help out of the box thinkers, is very ridged about the quality of your work, does not consider that this class is mandatory for your major and so your writing quality might be poorer then hers. very much logical, in the box, detail oriented thinker. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!

Betsy took over my creative writing class mid-semester when the instructor found out that he had cancer. She's been very helpful and accomidating. Also, she seems very genuine.

Very knowledgeable in the subject! Love her flexible policy on assignment due dates and laid back attitude. Only complaint is how she reads the notes she have in front of us - would rather listen to what she has to say.
