His lectures are very boring but he's not the worst professor. I feel like I didn't get much out of the class... John green videos every class. Which I could be doing for free. Make sure you write the papers and do the online assignments.

I took Prof. Carr my first semester at Kean and I do not regret taking his class. I took a 4:30-7:15 PM and while it was boring, he does make the occasional joke. Very lecture heavy but he was very helpful and took time out to explain the 3 papers as well as the final in depth. I recommend taking him. Just make sure you are paying attention!

I really enjoyed Professor Carr's class last spring semester. I had him for US History to 1877. He's really funny and is always available to help students even though he doesn't have office hours, he is always willing to meet before or after class. Although for lecture the text wasn't necessary, you did need all the texts to write the papers.

Professor Carr's papers are so difficult and his tests are very complicated. He has a bad habit of making fun of historic figures. Although I disapprove of President Reagan's policies as much as Carr does, he whines too much about Reagan signing legislation which forced him to transfer from Harvard to Rutgers during the early 1980s.

William Carr is such an annoying professor! He assigns four papers but hardly ever explains what you are going to write about. Don't expect that you will get an A on the papers or the exams; he is a very tough grader. Prof Carr sometimes abbreviates phrases on the blackboard. Later while reviewing your notes you'll think "What did I write down!?!"

It doesn't feel like a freshman level class because Prof. Carr assigns so much work! There are 4 essays which have to be around 5-7 pages in length(the last one is a book review)in addition to some in class writing assignments & the exams. I must admit he is passionate about history and very entertaining, humorous but he can be moody at times.

So bad! Don't take him please! He prefers to have 7 pages on the papers we write. We write our papers before he talks about it in class. It's horrible! I like him as a person but not as a teacher. I don't even know how I'm going to do the final! Oh and don't use the textbook either. If you can buy the connect code only do that! comes with the ebook

What you learn in class from presentations... about 5% of it is on the exams. I read the textbooks, etc... none of it was on the exams. The exams were loaded with "which one of the following is NOT..." just a whole bunch of tricky questions. A great guy, very amusing to listen to... absolutely brilliant in his area of expertise. Tough tests kill it

stressful class. All we did was write papers... I am not sure if I learned anything in this class. I bought the online textbook which we didn't even use. The final is impossible to study for and I am going to fail it! Good Luck if you take him

I took NJ History with Professor Carr. His personality makes the lectures entertaining. His tests are impossible to study for, but he grades them in a fair way that helps out students, so don't get discouraged after taking the midterm and final. Do your best on the papers! They will help!

HE IS TOUGH! and likes torchering students. 2 exams, and they are extremely difficult. Studying will not prepare you for the exams, so good luck. 3 papers in which his grading is retarded. Does not like to give out A's, and he will admit it is hard to get an A with him which is probably why I got a B. But I enjoyed his humor and StarTrek reference.

I'm taking an online NJ Hist class. It's not that I don't like him, but he gives A LOT of work. And I'm no slacker, I really work my butt off in all my classes. But really, 5 papers (3-5pages) plus a midterm and final (both at least 5pages) AND a research paper (10pages)? It just seems excessive. OH and weekly discussion posts. Just be prepared
