I took him for college algebra and went to class everyday along with doing the homework and payed attention in class but he is honestly the worst teach I have had in college and I would not recommend a freshmen or sophomore to take his class unless you truly understand math and can teach yourself.

I took his class a long time ago, but I still remember him. He was not great at explaining things and won't responded to emails. He had a reputation for being a bad teacher. I got an F from him, but I retook the class and got an A.

Comment:

Math has been my favorite subject since forever. Mr. Stevens could not make his math class any more boring. If I did not know all of the concepts beforehand, I would completely fail this class. He doesn't take time to explain things in full detail and has no passion for his class, making it a difficult learning environment.

Comment:

Mr. Stevens did a great job of explaining the material. I just finished up my major in Finance at USM and decided to pick up a minor in math. Other than the algebra in Finance, I haven't had a math class in 3 years. Luckily, he would review trig and complex algebra material often. I went to class, took notes, did the HW, and finished with a 97.

This professor was very difficult. I took him for Business Calculus I and will have to retake with a different teacher. I would advise everyone to not take this professor. His lectures are boring and he will not make eye contact with the students. Test are very unlike the lectures and the homework.

If I didn't have such a solid math background from high school, this class would've been tough. Lectures were pretty boring, and he didn't explain things very well. Mostly just worked some equations on a projector.

Had him for calculus class and was always an A student when it came to math, but he does not know how to explain anything and I had to come home everyday and teach myself how to do calculus. If it wasn't for chegg and youtube I would have failed. The guy couldn't even teach you how to get 4 from 2+2.

I had him for Calculus 1. I took it in high school so I already know whats happening. He explains things in the most difficult way possible. If you don't already have a basic understanding of calculus, then don't take him. He consistently makes mistakes and makes no eye contact. He stares at the ceiling if he's not looking at his paper. Don't Take!

Stevens could be considered difficult, but as long as you do the homework & listen in class you should be able to pass. He's egotistical & really cocky. I took him for Intermediate Algebra & he treated us like morons. He gives opportunities for bonus points before every test - therefore, I passed with flying colors. He's a cell phone nazi.

This is is extremely difficult. I made all A's in highschool Algebra I and II, and I dropped this class within three weeks. He basically lectures on stuff you don't know and doesn't explain it and give you homework (which you don't have to do) and then you have a test bi-weekly. I would recommend someone else if it is possible.

Terrible. Condescending; explains very little, even when asked to clarify. Makes fundamentally easy material impossible. I am now STRUGGLING to understand basic calculus with no concept of the algebra I should already know.
