He does not give specific instructions on what he expects on assignments and essays and expects you to just know by reading his mind what he wants. He does not respond to emails. He does not care about being an effective teacher. He is condescending towards students and their questions and likes to hear himself talk.

Nice guy however would not take a class with him again, period. He was incredibly disorganized, his lectures were at times very difficult to follow and his grading was very confusing with grades all over the place (sentiments felt by the entire class). At times felt patronized for not knowing obscure facts, thats why you are taking a class on them

He was a very unfair professor and made me feel uncomfortable in class. I was unable to share my thoughts because he shot down any opinions that I had to offer. He also chooses not to respond to his e-mails and claims to be "too busy" to respond when you are asking a simple yes/no question.

One of the smartest people I've ever encountered. He's friendly and has a lot of first-hand experience with the topics he teaches about. He doesn't assign very homework, but he does grade tougher than some on tests and papers.

He strongly enforces participation, in his Afri. Studies course i'm in at least. He is a very nice guy, and seems to know his stuff... But in a class that is meant to convey broad views on interesting topics, he presents his knowledge as fact. He rambles a lot, often taking 5-10 minutes to answer a question. As stated, he is right, even on opinions

Extremely intelligent and thoughtful. He's got a lot more field experience and "credibility" than many PoliSci teachers. I'm sorry to say that I took his class to fill a graduation requirement, so I didn't enjoy it that much, but he's a very good professor if Politics or African Studies is your thing.
