If a person is not clear about his own text book, that means this person may not have a clear understand of what his is writing or simple because the co-author write the most of material and this professor is taking part of credite. He is suppose to be export, but it look like he doesn't understand what creativity is.

He wrote his text book, but it looks like he is not so clear about some history background. He is also very bais against Aisan culture, I will recoment to take the class from another professor.

He is so boring!! All his powerpoints are online, and the quizzes are open book. I never went to class, it was such a waste of time.

he is pretty knowledgable about all he teaches and his tests are in a very easy format. he really does make you look at things differently and how humans progressed, fascinating. this class is great for any major to take for the civ ge, it invigorates the mind and will last me my whole life. study notes & the power points and an A or A- will come

He was an excellent teacher. i learned a ton about creativity. The hardest parts were the tests, but they weren't too bad. Amazing class!

This was a pretty rough class for me, but it was pretty fun. My favorite was Creativity Day. The tests are super hard, but the quizzes we had to do every weekend were easy points. Sometimes I fell asleep because it was really boring, but most of the time it was actually interesting. He really knows his history.

Loved this class. It requires the reading of the entire textbook but I enjoyed most of it. Quizzes are open book at home online which I liked. The tests are mostly essay. You have to know specifics of history. Projects were fun!

He is an awesome teacher and he loves to tell the stories of his travels. Sometimes the lectures are fun and sometimes there are not much too them and you could simply read the chapter and look at the PP he puts online. First text was easy but you need to know names!!! Projects are easy and fun. I hate history and would still recommend to anyone.

Professor Strong is a really nice guy and his lectures are 1/2 boring 1/2 interesting. The only problem I have with his class is the tests. I studied for a long time with the study guide, but when I took the test, it had nothing barely anything to do with the study helps. Interesting class, but does not prepare you for the test at all!

Least of all evils for the civ GEs. Super easy, little homework. Just take home portions for the tests and a semester project. Neither are hard. IDK what HOC class the person who rated before me took, because it sure wasn't this one. The take home stuff is lame, but I wouldn't call it "busy work." Reading the book is essential, attend class is not.

Most overrated class at BYU. Way too much busy work, and lectures are pretty much just listening to Strong recite the textbook (which is horribly written). If you enjoy history, don't take this class.

Worst teacher i have ever had at BYU. he does not care about his students and he does not prepare you for the test. The TA's don't help at all. Don't take history of creativity from him. Extremely hard tests that show nothing of what you really know. Would never take another class from him.

HARD. The quizzes and project were easy. But the tests...you have to memorize so many facts and the tests are just ridiculously hard because they only pick a few things to test you on. Not worth it. I thought it would be easy-- I hear other professors are easier...so take it from someone else!

I NEVER went to class and got an A-. He wrote the textbook, so just read that & you will be fine. Memorize 2 things about each major word/event/person,etc. for the test. He tends to like poetry (though I didn't do it) for the projects. All of the athletes take this class if that means anything.

Dr. Strong is a great lecturer. You can tell he loves what he does. There are weekly quizzes and a lot of reading but not too hard. The creativity project was a little stressful but was actually pretty fun. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to fill the Civ GE but good luck getting in. It fills up quick!

I was expecting this class to be really easy like everyone had stated, but it wasn't. Dr. Strong cares about his students, but make sure that you study hard for the tests. You need to memorize two things about EVERYTHING. The quizzes and creativity projects were a breeze, just the tests brought me down.

This is definitely the best option for getting your CIV GE credits. Good luck getting in though. It fills up fast. Dr. Strong teaches the material in a way that's interesting and engaging. Plus he often shows cool video clips in his lectures. The creative project wasn't too bad. There is a lot of reading but the quizzes are easy. Study for tests.

The textbook is interesting. If you actually read it, the lectures are extremely boring. Tests are all short answer and essay, but pretty easy. Big "creativity" project at the end of the semester.
