I am currently taking my first ever college theater course and it is quite difficult. I was bought here under the assumption that I would be learning important information and actually have most things the I learn actually matter to my area of interest. That is not the case and most things that I actually learn occur outside of the classroom.

By far one of the more experienced technical directors I have ever encountered, Mr. Brown definately taught me a great deal. The most important lesson, however, was to follow your own path. The only drawback was that once you made a mistake, it took a LOT to recover. Bring every weapon in your arsenal when taking his classes, and be sure to listen!

For anyone that says Brown is a poor teacher, these students were most likely just very lazy. Brown pushes all students to do their best, and if the student is not trying to do their best, they may feel ostracized. Everyone should take a Brown class, however if you are lazy, stay FAR AWAY!

I LOVE BROWN! He has opened my eyes to the world and theatre and theatre design! He is by far my favorite teacher of all time. Not only is he a wonderful professor, he is a very inspiring person in everyday contact. I don't know how I could have made it as far as I have come without this wonderful man!

Easily the worst professor I experienced at UofO. I was a THR major for nearly 3 years before I left. You must score a 95 to get an A where most profs require 93 or 90. He spends the entire THR budget on HIS sets so the students design is limited to pulling old clothes or begging AR Tech for their leftovers. He lies to his recruits & students.
