Find your inner hippie! This class was so much fun! Carl is absolutely amazing and hilarious. The class went to San Francisco for honors and it was so much fun having these instructors with us. He makes the class interesting and makes you want to go to class. I hope to take another class from him sometime. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I LOVED this class. Porter is an amazing professor. He wasn't extremely concerned about deadlines, but more concerned about if we were understanding the content. I would recommend him to ANYONE!

Carl is awesome! He is wonderful to work with- his focus is really on making sure that students get something from the course. He is pretty relaxed about deadlines, as long as you have good quality work. He is a tough grader on papers, but provides good comments and direction. Also, he grades quickly! Highly recommended.

One of my favorite professors at Weber! Carl Porter is awesome, friendly, and smart. He grades papers tough, but he IS an English major. This course is one of my favorites, as well. You should take this course if you can, it is so interesting.

Professor Porter is not only a great professor, but he's very personable and a nice man, too. This is a difficult class, but he is very helpful and clear when it comes to assignments. I recieved my assignments back pretty quickly. I'm taking his HNRS 1540 class next semester as well. He's a great teacher.

Porter is an awesome teacher, i loved his class and it was easy. we had a couple simple writing assignments, the only things that he grades were the writing assigments- all other homework was just discussed in class. If you missed it didn't really matter and he rarely docked if an assignment was late. I would recommend him to any Eng. 0955 student!

Carl is one of the weirdest and coolest people i know. He acctually cares who you are and doesn't care much about deadlines. I have him for a class about hippies, it's great, it's easy but i've still learned a lot from him. Don't have to come to class much either

It is tragic that Carl Porter is mostly trapped in administrative meetings instead of teaching. He's just a god damn good prof. -- even if he's a little spacy -- I actually remember most of his class, unlike most of my undergrad experience. Porter, if you're reading this, tell the admin you're quiting your meetings and TEACH!
