Had him for summer microbiology. Great professor, ton of extra credit. Dont bother with the book/slides. Take REALLY GOOD notes from lecture and lab-thats what his exams are on. Attend class, take good notes (everything he says or writes on the board) and youll get a A

4 exams and a final they all are a mix of multichoice, essay, fill in the blank and Mix matching. 4 lab quizzes( only 10 questions) he will tell you whats on the test only some of it not all, all of his notes on the board is what you should know . Not the slides he doesnt even use them just for pictures.

Charles Svitlik is a great professor. Micro is a hard subject but he doesnt make it too difficult. He gives you hints on what would be on the exam. He also provides a good amount of extra credit to help improve your grade.

Great professor. Its Microbiology, so you will have to study the material. He makes class interesting and entertaining. He understands that you have other obligations and will work with you if you have issues outside of class. Study guides are given, take notes, and do the extra credit. You will get an A if you follow that recipe.

Charlie was such a great teacher and absolutely willing to help. He looked out for your best interest. If there is something you are not understanding take the time to ask. His main goal is to see you succeed. Study, do the hands on labs and pay attention to his instructions, and take notes.

Charlie is an all around pleasure to be with in class and lab. He is funny, caring and accommodating. Really makes an effort to help out any way he can. Clear teaching, and clear grading criteria. Gives study guides. Not a power point based class which is a nice refreshing change. Took micro in the summer and he made it doable.

Great teacher and really nice guy. There is a lot of material which you will have to remember and might need to spend extra time out of class to understand some parts. But he is very clear and interested in you doing well. Have fun!

I was scared to take Microbiology but Dr. Svitlik's enthusiasm and knowledge made it a great experience. I have retained more from this class than any other science I took. His teaching style made a tough subject interesting and understandable. Study the material well for tests and listen closely in lecture and you'll be fine. Great Professor!

I found Charlie a very helpful professor. He was always willing to help and answered questions in class. He makes you feel comfortable and really cares about his students. I took him this summer and he learned all of our names by the 2nd week of class. Tests are pretty easy if you study the material. Great class especially in the summertime

Charlie is the greatest professor at NVCC. If you are going to take a science course take it with him. he will explain everything to you until you understand it. He will not leave a student behind. He also makes the class fun. There is never a dull moment in his class. He is also very kind!

This professor is great! The only way you could possibly fail is if you are a lazy student!! Basically all you have to do is fill in the study guide & go to the labs. He is not strict on attendance, gives you many opportunities to do well, he's a very easy grader, very understanding guy, very down to earth, & he really cares for his students!
