Comment:

This guy reads every lecture whats on the book. You don't learn anything from him, on of his labs is super hard which is the PLL. The rest as long as you have taken 386 you should be fine. His test consist on block diagrams so for your cheat sheet just know what to put cause a lot of it comes from his lectures. Almost always their proofs.

Comment:

Do not ever take him. He literally cannot teach. It's incredible how the EE department is not aware of his useless teaching despite student's evaluation. For assignments, he gives the LEAST amount of help possible with no clear directions and expect you to understand everything he reads from his garbled notes. Save yourself some times/efforts.

Do your education a favor and avoid this guy at all costs. He's smart, but he shouldn't be teaching or should've retired years ago. Doesn't go over lab assignments. He doesn't even review Fourier Transform and jumps straight into chapter four of the book. Taking this guy makes me want to quit school - what a turd sandwich.

Comment:

Tsang is as bad as everyone makes him out to be. His lectures are dry and reads straight from a projector of hand written notes from the book. He's smart in the subject of communication systems, just lacks the ability to teach it. If you could take anyone else, I would recommend it.

Despite his non-interactive and traditional lecture style, Professor Tsang is incredibly knowledgeable. I admit his lecture had been a bit boring sometimes but if you pay attention hard enough, you'll understand. He will care about you if he knows you seem to care about yourself.

Comment:

He is a fair professor lectures were boring with monotone. you need to read a lot and has some mathematical intuitions to ace on his tests. He doesn't fail his students because they did poorly. He looks into the efforts on his students. He was kinda cynical when he sees his students talking during his lectures.

Comment:

Homework helps you learn, but doesn't help a lot for tests. Best chance for an A comes through finding old tests and studying them. Though it seems like he doesn't really care about how people do, and can be condescending to people who don't understand... if you are interested in Communications, he can be interesting.

Tsang was as bad as the other reviews make him out to be. He assigned homework straight of the book, did labs out of the book. He gives you notes which are the important things from the book to focus on. The tests were really not that bad if you do the homework. Every no and then he would throw something on there really confusing. Class is curved

Please avoid taking this class unless you are really interested to get some credit printed on your transcript of the knowledge that you possess in this subject, because you have to teach yourself everything. Including MATLAB raw coding

High expectation of students, but does not teach you. Literally reads from his lecture notes to you in barely understandable english. Tests are difficult and he will not tell you what to expect on the tests. Does not follow a book. Stay away from this professor if you can.

Another professor with tenure that the school can't do anything about. He is inarticulate and uninteresting. I learned little to nothing through his boring lectures. AVOID AT ALL COST! (for your education's sake) Also the textbook (Higham) is junk. I suggest not even buying it and getting a better book( Matlab for Engineers) or just download.

Neural Networks&Fuzzy Logic: Good course, slightly harder than average project but achievable. Very monotonic during lecture, little feedback during presentations. No final exam, but huge final project. Learnt a lot by reading course notes, not so much from attending lecture.

Dr Tsang Lectures=reading of his notes word by word by he himself..nothing more!!He does not make you understand concepts but expects you to magically implement them in the very hard projects. Waste of my money and effort. Horrible grading too. He just reads out the notes without putting effort to make you understand anything. STAY AWAY!!!!

Choice of text is bad. You buy his Lecture Notes which are hand written and not very legible and useful. Deducts major points for simple mistakes,final is nothing like his exams,he gives intuitive as well as analytical questions.Know your eng-subj to do the projects and tests. You will spend more time on his class than your others,no help from him.

Dr. Tsang cannot speak understandable english. His lectures are absolutely useless. You buy the lecture notes in handout form, and it is exactly what he shows on the overhead. Just learn how to solve the problems somehow. He treated me like an idiot
