The entire semester she communicated the importance of participation and showing up. She graded papers harshly but always said dont worry about it. I got a C+ because she didnt communicate how much the papers factored into her grading rubric. Her syllabus wasnt clear cut. I got a B in the end because I fought for it. Shes deceiving, Dont take her

This was not a very interesting class for me, since I just took it to meet GER. However, I must admit, if Prof. Acampora was teaching another Philosophy class, I wouldn't think twice about taking it. I truly admire her passion for what she does. She has such clarity in what she's teaching. She's always giving us easy access to bonus points too!

She's really clear with what she wants you to know. She has a passion for what she teaches. She gives you so many resources and materials to gather information. It's a good class to take to meet your GER. She's a good professor! Yes, you do have to write a couple essays for midterm and final but 1 you can write at home, High chance of getting A

Such a lovely, intelligent woman whom I grew to admire very much. I liked her dry humor; it kept the class interesting despite my own personal lack of interest in philosophy. Very willing to help if you need it and very reasonable when it comes to grading.

I truly enjoyed her class she is a very smart prof who normally teaches higher level courses but if you have the chance to take her intro class I highly suggest it. I found the class challenging but also easy because she makes it SO clear what she wants and is so understanding and tries to truly see her students do well.very nice lady, take her!

Two words: TAKE HER! Yes the class is VERY boring but its a pretty easy class. As everyone said there is 10 quizzes (online) and she gives your the answers proir to the quiz, 2 700 word papers and I only got 1 test this semester (which she allowed us to do over). She gives easy points away & calls them "gravy points" just for coming to class.

As long as you pay attention and read the texts, her class is easy. Adheres to the syllabus, so there are no surprises: 2 papers (700+ words), ~10 quizzes, and 2 exams. She has my vote.

The class was very boring. We had to read two books but I couldn't get past the first page. Overall the class isn't hard, Prof. Acampora is really cool; she gives lots of points for just showing up to class. We had two tests, ten online quizzes and two papers bet. 500 and 700 words.

I'll be honest, her class is very boring. But to make up for it, she doesn't expect everybody to understand right away the philosophies of Socrates. She tries to make things as easy as possible, by giving free points like self evaluations and quizzes, in which she tells the answers in class. Although attendance is not mandatory, you should go.

Great prof. Extremely dedicated. Has a passion for philo that is very notorious. If this is your first Philo class, i would highly recommend her. 10 quizzes (directly from her notes). 2 test (bit challenging, ONLY if you didnt study). 2 papers (700 words each) and a bunch of bonuses, which mainly come from just for SHOWING UP to class.

I really liked her. She loves philosophy so if you need help you can always talk to her. You can get tons of points just for showing up to class and the quizzes are extremely easy. The tests are challenging but she gives extra credit. She only gave us two papers which were 700words each.

Just because it's a 100-level class doesn't mean you can slack off! You better take this class seriously if you really want to pass it. She ruined my outlook on philosophy and fueled my everlasting hate for Socrates and Plato. :D

If you have never taken a philosophy course, I highly recommend this professor. She is extremely fair with grading and there are a lot of ways to boost your grade throughout the semester (eg. in-class assignments). If you are conscientious, you have nothing to worry about. If you are a lazy bum, you might find it hard to do well.

Everyone here who complained about this prof. is obviously pretty lazy and didn't come to class. I came to class, did good on the quizes and as a result the tests were NOT that hard. Bottom line is if you don't come to class, going through the notes on BB is pointless because they will seem vague. They will help you on the quizes, but not the exams
