Worst teacher I have ever had. Does not teach, rambles about pointless material. PASS sessions are pointless and he will recommend that is the best way to learn in his class because he can't teach. Doesn't explain lab just gives a packet and plays with his fruit flies. HW is graded harder than an exam and never expect partial credit.

His lectures consists of a picture on a slide and him rambling on about it and other things not pertaining to what we were learning. His grading is difficult for a 200 course. Also, when meeting with him he will try to prove you wrong instead of helping you understand a concept that you are confused about.

Smart, sarcastic guy. Lectures are mediocre. Uneven point distribution on exams. Unclear in lab and with what he expects from the lab reports. Don't expect to have things graded timely. Wasn't terrible, but could've been better if things were more prepared and organized. Course was co-taught. The class seemed to perform worse from his material.

Dr. Jones really cares about his students. He will go out of his way to help you learn the material. Don't slouch off in his classes though! His weekly/bi-weekly problem sets make up the largest chunk of your grade, and it helps to work with other students. Work hard, and you will learn a lot. Honestly one of the best professors at Moravian!

Dr. Jones will treat you like an adult. He has a very colorful personality and isn't afraid to speak his mind, which makes him an incredibly interesting man to get to know. When he sees you need help, he'll go out of his way despite how busy he is. Very passionate about what he does and an engaging, effective professor.

Dr. Jones is the smartest professor that I have met to date. You need to look at his credentials before taking this class. Really is a remarkable human being. He attended both Haveford and Yale, receiving his masters and doctorate. Pay attention in class, follow his rules, work hard and you shouldn't have any issues. Definitely a great professor.

Many students are intimidated by Dr. Jones, but honestly there's no reason to be. He is always willing to help his students at any time. If he sees that you are a hardworking student and you put in the time and effort then he will do his best to help you succeed in the class. It's tough, but its not impossible. Don't hesitate to ask for help.

Be prepared to go in at all hours of the night to check your flies. Dr. Jones is somewhat helpful if you attend office hours. He can be kind of rude, though, so don't be afraid to sass him back. He is also a good actor.

Comment:
The lab for genetics is pretty tedious, but Dr. Jones definitely knows his stuff. Gives a ton of chances for extra credit and "easy" extra points, and he grades really fairly, on a point system. Each homework problem set is worth as much as the tests, so if you put in the time, you will get a good grade in the class.

Dr. Jones is a nice man, but when it comes to teaching or grading, not so nice. i agree with the previous post saying that material won't be on the test, then it mysteriously shows up. not okay. he also grades randomly and somewhat unfair. he is helpful if you ask for help, but class seems to be irrelevant to the material on the exams. oh boo!

Although I found the writing 100 class a little pointless, comparatively, I must say that Professor Jones is one of the best. He always returned my papers with a ton of helpful comments and really placed an emphasis on learning new vocabulary. If I was a sceicne major, I would definitely be taking his Genetic course!
