I had Professor Landry for Biography of Cancer and he was amazing. By far my favorite class I've had at UVM. He wanted all of his students to pass and was very accessible outside of class. You definetly need to take great notes throughout the semester to be helpful for the final lab report and paper. Not too many quizzes so those grades matter alot

Biography of Cancer was a great class. Landry doesn't really lecture much but he brings in other professors and oncologists from the hospital to present the material. Each lecture is new material presented by people who really know what they're talking about. We got to tour the pathology lab, morgue, and more. Highly recommend this class.

Comment:
Fascinating content, but professor is arrogant and at times obnoxiously so. It's an entry level elective class for all majors, yet Prof Landry rakes students over the coals in presentations and nearly humiliates them by criticizing them over content that even he doesn't really know. He acts like he is an oncologist and grades people accordingly.

Good guy and a very interesting course. A little tougher at times for non-science majors but a solid choice if you put the work in.

Professor Landry is condescending, arrogant, and really doesn't care about the whole student. He's see his course, and chemistry, and that's all. I had him Chem 036, Gen Chem for major, and he was great because he wanted us all to stay in the major, but this elective, he really made us feel worthless.

Definitely recommend this course if you like chemistry. He will direct you to the information you will need to know for quizzes and exams, study almost exclusively from class notes and old tests. Grades very fairly and is not looking to screw anyone over. He is very smart and knows the topics very well, enthusiastic and encourages participation.

Great Professor. Very clear and willing to help. He is also my adviser, and excels there as well. Always around to explain things and cares about the individual student if they are interested in the topic and put the effort in.

An overall excellent teacher, can move at a fast pace in class sometimes but it's to be expected because it was an accelerated course and he did a good job in making sure to cover all the testable information in class.

Prof. Landry is supremely intelligent yet earthy as can be. It's quite refreshing to see someone with his ability show such care towards, and patience with, a struggling student. He's my hero.

Chris Landry is by far the best professor I've had in my 3 years so far at UVM. He really makes an effort to ensure that everyone learns the material and succeeds in the class. With weekly quizzes to keep you on track, review sessions before exams, and extra help during office hours, everyone has a chance to do well in this course. Landry rules!

My favorite professor!! Very organized, clear, and helpful before and after class. The class isn't easy, but if you put effort into it you can definately do well, and he wants you to. He is the nicest guy, and I only wish he taught more classes.

Professor Landry is a really helpful and cheerful teacher. His class is fast paced and hard but he makes it very manageable. He is very thorough when describing material on tests and he is a sucker for partial credit. I really liked having him as a teacher and I wish he taught 36.
